Scream 5 in Development

She better have married McDreamy.

I can’t tell you how much I would love for Kincaid to be Sidney’s husband lol. I know Patrick Dempsey is obviously not in this movie but just a reference to him being the guy she married would be enough for me. I love his character and I always hoped he would return somehow so that would be a perfect nod to scream 3.

Anyway this new featurette got me so hyped, this movie just looks perfect and everything I’ve wanted as a scream fan. The vibe is sooo classic scream and the OG 3 look like they’re getting really important roles even if their screen time may be lessened this time around. Not really a huge thing but the costumes and hair for Sidney, Dewey and Gale are spot on and totally in line with their looks from the original trilogy.

Again this really feels like the movie scream 4 should have been and a true “reboot” to the series, meshing the old cast with the new cast. It also looks way more serious in tone than any of the other movies which is interesting

Do we though? Secret cameo is always possible, even just a minute or two.

Maybe he’s the killer, lol.

It’s always someone you know…

His motive is he just hates married life.

That got me thinking, which one do you think is the best red herring from all Scream movies?

Cotton in Scream 2.
When they show his boots on the library stairs for like half a second, that was a nice touch.

I always liked how Ghostface in Scream 3 pretends to fake Roman's voice when he's talking to Jenny McCarthy's character but it was actually his own voice. I didn't pick up on that until my most recent rewatch. Same with him being 'killed' off-screen. As critical as anyone can be about that film, the whoodunit aspect of it is very clever. Once you realize that Kincaid isn't the killer you're like "BUT WHO THE HELL IS IT". Very hard to guess if you see it for the first time.

I never bought Roman's one because it happened off screen. When you don't see them die its just not believable. Its why Billy's 'death' was a better fake out because we saw Ghostface attack him.

For me it's Derek. It leads to a real tragic end for Sidney and ****s up her entire life.

I agree, which is why I’m so glad Derek ended up not being the killer. It was a harsh lesson for sidney and actually quite powerful when she realises she’s made a mistake and derek was a good guy all along.

I always thought it was a nice touch that she continues to wear Derek’s greek letter necklace throughout scream 3 to remember him.

Looks like Ghostface is wearing a hoodie.

It's hard to be sure, but to me it does look like possibly a different mask/hood in those two Ghostface images.

Either way, the cinematography of this movie looks absolutely fantastic. I feel like that in an of itself is almost an acknowledgement on how the horror genre has 'come of age' and is taken more seriously now.

LOVE that shot of sidney with the gun! And the shot of ghostface in front of the car.

The cinematography is great and really striking.

The first Ghostface image looks like a promo pic/shoot. Doesn't appear to be the same mask and hood set up.

I guess I need to actually watch What Lies Beneath.

I’ve heard michelle mention this before! So cool.

You should definitely watch what lies beneath, it’s one of my absolute favourite mystery/horror movies. It’s so eerie and michelle pfeiffer’s performance is fantastic.

On another note I’ve been rewatching the trailer/featurette and I’ve noticed how little Gale they’ve shown. We see alot of Sid and Dewey but almost no Gale so far which worries me. Do you guys think she will have less screen time than the other OG’s? I haven’t read any leaks so I have no idea of what her general role in this will be

Count me as one who didn’t like What Lies Beneath at all.

It was a decent thriller and the first time Ford didn’t play a hero role. I remember the trailer gave away the twist.
