My largest hope for this film… is if the Ghostface scenes feel a bit unique between the different killers. The og was the best at that, even by accident. S2 was so/so at that… the rest just didn’t care. I’m looking at you S4 with short high heel clogs wearing Emma Roberts.

Let’s turn this into The Prestige game, baby.

I agree and I have a strong feeling these directors will have payed close attention to that as Wes initially did. Unlike Scream 4, we should be able to go back and figure out which killer is behind the mask in each Ghostface scene based on the plotting, staging of scenes, mannerisms and body size/height of the killers, etc.

I'm so happy. There's just nothing in any of what I've seen or read so far that's given me any pause, I'm all in on the hype train. Tickets purchased for next Thursday in a Dolby Cinema.

Hopefully happens. Projections have been all over the place at the box office.

That seems like a generously high projection. Scream 4 only grossed $19 million during its opening weekend and wasn't even the #1 film at the box office, plus there was no pandemic back in 2011.

I feel bad for this movie in terms of box office prospects. They purposely scheduled it for this date in order to hopefully avoid all of the COVID hysteria and shutdowns, and look what's happened since the end of December in the US and elsewhere. Pretty sure theaters in Canada are shut down again.

It's a real shame because I do think under different circumstances this could have been pretty big.

Sidney's theme returns! I could be wrong, but I seem to remember it not having a pretty minimal presence in Scream 4 even though Beltrami scored it. That's another box checked for me already.

I love the Scream franchise and I was very cold on the movie, I saw the trailer just once (in compare I watched the trailer for Scream 4 like 50 times). But now I start hype. I hope we see Gale back in action!

I am so glad I haven't read any spoilers for this at all. I want to go in completely cold and with no expectations other than me enjoying the first trailer that came out and hoping it ends up being good.

I really want to be surprised by this flick as much as possible and hopefully it's a return to form for this franchise like those early reactions/reviews suggest.
