I wish they had stuck with the summer camp idea. This hospital idea just feels forced or tacked on.

I do feel somewhat hesitant to give the new season a chance, though. There were a lot of promises made going into the first season that went unfulfilled. They were supposed to whittle down the cast of the show until only a handful of characters were left standing in the end, and they ended up killing, what, two main castmembers? Three maybe? And a s***load of guest stars. Then the whole thing came to a very "To Be Continued" kind of conclusion, which doesn't make much sense when you consider that the ratings could've easily justified FOX not bringing it back.

The whole thing just started off with a lot of Glee season 1 potential and rapidly ended up at, like, Glee season 4-5 quality.

Taylor Lautner Joins Scream Queens Season 2 as Series Regular

He’ll be playing “Dr. Cassidy Cascade,” an MD who suffers from a strange medical condition (hmmm… ) and becomes a suspect when a series of tragic events plagues the institution.

If this was a straight drama, I'd be so concerned about his involvement. But this show being the high camp that it is, I think he might be pretty well suited for it.

Scream Queens exclusive: Glee actor joining season 2

The Scream Queens hospital is quickly filling up: EW can exclusively reveal that actor James Earl (Glee) will be joining season 2 of Fox’s horror comedy as a regular and one of the male leads alongside John Stamos and Taylor Lautner.

Earl, who most recently appeared on Fox’s Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life, will play a character named Candy Striper in the second season, which is set in a creepy hospital owned by Jamie Lee Curtis’ Cathy Munsch.

Queens reunites Earl with Glee creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan. The actor played Azimio, a member of the McKinley Titans football team who often bullied the New Directions members.

Scream Queens premieres Sept. 20th at 9pm on Fox.
