Script Discussion thread SPOILERS INSIDE

so is it true that the asgardians are really [BLACKOUT]aliens and not the real norse gods?[/BLACKOUT] if true it actually makes sense since many things in the comics don't actually coincide with actual norse mythology.

I was just about to ask if Thor fly's in this moving. Glad to here that he does fly in the movie. Do you know what scenes he will be flying in?

I believe he does a bit during the battle with the Frost Giants and then again during the fight with the Destroyer. I can't really recall if there's another scene.

Question about Thor reclaiming Mjolnir. How exactly does he get it back before the Destroyer crushes him? Does it just fly/appear to him?

Basically, yes, it comes flying to him. The Destroyer hits (mortal) Thor and practically kills him. The Destroyer gets ready to blast a motionless Thor and Mjolnir flies to him and deflects the blast.

Yes, I guess they're consider aliens. They were an advanced race that visited Earth and that primitive Vikings worshipped as gods.

The Asgardians also say Science AND Magic are one in the same. So they are still far more advanced than we are.

I sure hope Thor really does fly in the Frost Giant battle, especially when he fights the "giant creature" from the trailer. Jotunheim also seems like it's going to be the largest area in the film, so it only makes sense for Thor to fly in it.

I have a few questions regarding Loki: Is the door left open for him to appear in The Avengers? And are all his scenes in Asgard/Jotunheim or does he come to Earth, too?

Sorry if any of this was asked already, I didn't read the whole thread because I don't want to get too spoilered :cwink:

The end with Loki is left wide open. It appears as if he dies, but it is far from definitive.

There's only one brief scene with Loki on Earth. He visits Thor while he's being held by Shield. Loki appears as an agent and "updates" Thor on Odin's condition.

I'm still anxious to see the what level of magic Loki will be using in the film, I hope he pulls out some big moves.

With that being said, Loki's "staff blast" & "magic dagger throw" from the 2nd trailer were awesome .

Can anyone who's read the script describe as to what the relationship between Thor and Loki is like prior towards Thor getting banished?

I mean, I've read interviews from Tom saying that Loki does in a way, "care" about his brother while being jealous of him at the same time.

Also, does anyone know if Odin had banished Thor where he had no intention of ever bringing him back...or that he had intended to bring him back once Thor had changed his ways?

Well, I can answer this part

Odin banished Thor so he could learn humility so he did indeed have intentions to bring him back after he changed his ways.

Thanks for the answer. I really appreciate it.

Hmmm...I'm actually quite curious to find out as to what Thor was faced with that forced Odin to appear and rescue him and co. in the Frost Giant's realm since I've been told, and shown as to how powerful he is, and the Warriors 3, Sif, and Loki sure aren't pushovers as well.

Probably the sheer numbers of the Frost Giant's finally overwhelming them. They're on a whole planet filled with them after all, good question though.

I hope that "giant monster" isn't what causes Odin to come, I want to see Thor defeat it single handedly or atleast mostly by himself.

Yeah, it seems that they are just overwhelmed by the number of Frost Giants, they just kept coming in waves.

Will they actually defeat that giant creauture steintym?

Oh yeah it's left wide open if you ask me. Loki basically is carried away in Bifrost energy from Thor destroying bifrost.
See what happens is Bifrost CAN'T be connected to one planet for too long or it will destroy that planet.
You SEE Thor and Loki talk about it a bit in the last trailer. Loki sends the Rainbow Bridge to earth allowing Thor, Sif and the Warriors Three to return, but intends to destroy the planet and those Thor now considers friends.
Thor then destroys Bifrost (also seen in the trailer) and Loki ends up floating away into the energy.

I don't recall that creature IN the script BT. I think that's an added part like I was saying earlier.
Slepnir is the only creature I recall other than Asgardians, Frost Giants and Humans mentioned.

Oh ****, Slepnir's gonna be in the film? Yessss :awesome:

Speaking on the creature, I'm glad to see that they've added things of this magnitude to the film. There hasn't been a creature nearly this epic in any Marvel's studios films yet.

Yeah, just as Thor and Crew are about to be over run by Frost giants early on in the film. Bifrost opens up and Odin rides into Jotunheim on Slepnir. :D Sounds VERY cool.

I agree, I don't recall the creature being mentioned at all. I think that was an add on and we'll have to see how it plays out.

Sounds cool Vartha, and yeah I think that creature was quite an impressive add on Steintym.

Woot Sleipner is in the script! I hope it made it to the movie. I remember seeing Odins 2 ravens in the throneroom pic. Were his 2 wolves in the script too?

I don't remember the Wolves in the script. I would love at some point to see Odin walking down a Hall with the Wolves and ravens following

This is one of the scenes I'm most looking forward to. Sleipnir on the big screen is gonna be epic!

i'm not sure that's going to be in the movie. i remember colm feore talking about some changes to his interaction with odin in that scene that they came up with in rehearsals that were supposed to be very different to the script.
