Some great ideas here, but regardless, I can confirm that niether of those summaries are accurate.

Uh, I never did accuse youKeyser Sushi said:Boom - apart from ragging on Jett, which is horribly fashionable of you, I have one complaint about your post.
Where did I say Jett knew anything about the story of TDK, let alone a lot?

No need to apologize.Keyser Sushi said:Sorry, Cap'n, it looked like your post was a response to mine.
If it was not, then, you know... kindly disregard what I said.![]()

Sorry for the confusion.
And Merry Christmas to you as well.
I agree with Keyser. I remember you made the comment about the Joker being more Arkham Asylum-ish...can you elaborate a little? *pleading look*Keyser Sushi said:Heya, gill... I wonder... since you know these summaries are not accurate, why not tell us what you DO know? This IS the Spoiler forum, after all...
Let us hear all about it.
No?

Fair enough. I *do* understand what Nolan is doing but from a purely grasping fan perspective it is a little...frustrating. However, I went in to BB having only watched the trailers (I was spoiled by idiot IMDB users, but that is another story) and I feel the experience was greatly heightened because of that. I was awestruck. I'd very much like to repeat that experience.gillberg2k1 said:What I've been hearing has shot down the credibility of those who posted the summaries. That's all.
The right people have said that those summaries are false and not an accurate representation of what, if anything at this point, is out there. Why? Anyone speculating or claiming to know whats actually going on at this point (including those whom people blindly follow and think are "in the know") is full of it.
The whole team on this thing wants you and every other news group, website, and rumor mill to know absolutely nothing. For one, its a part of the fun, and two, much like a magic trick, if they show you how its done and give you a peek to early, they blow their entire frame/angle for the film and destroy what theyre working for.
Having said that. There's nothing out there. If there is, its outdated by this point, as I know they're still extensively rewriting and prepping for a large, stressful production.
Thanks for answering my question. I appreciate it.What I know is that The Joker character is not what you're used to. He's not like the TAS version, or a camped up counterpart. Much like Batman was "rethought" in certain ways, so will the Joker. He's intense, he's mean, and he's psychotic.

Sounds good. As long as the re-thinking isn't taken too far, of course.![]()

gillberg2k1 said:he character is being treated more like the Fox role in Begins, as it's a nice role with some investment into future films, but it's not the largest character in the film. They will need a big name and a strong resume to help add some star power to the next installment, hence the "aiming high." Obviously theyre looking ahead to the big Two-Face pay off for part 3.
gillberg2k1 said:That's right. Because I've heard nothing of real substance. What I have heard is simply information that destroyed the credibility of those who submitted the summaries in question. Therefore, I can confirm that they are false.

Honestly, guys, this one's pretty tight lipped, and more so than Begins was. Superman Returns was a totally different story, there's was stuff going around as soon as Singer jumped on board, and it was easy to tell what he was up to.
What I do know is that while things are certainly relaxed on the production, they're also being very careful with everything to keep it contained. At this point what's known is what's already been pointed out: It's different, it's darker, it's a bit more chaotic/intense, and it's really pushing the boundaries of the "reimagining" of the Batman we met in 2005. But above all else, it's about the characters and story. This will be the "Empire Strikes Back" of the series.
Other than that, even people close to the production know very little at this point. Less so than the Begins production. It doesn't mean there's anything to worry about, they're just being overly cautious. So anything that's out there that isnt extremely detailed, or credible (coming straight from the team) isn't worth your time. Give it another month or two, once screenplays have circulated among the team, you'll hear more and you can start taking these lame rumors a bit more seriously.
As for Dent, that's an interesting topic. Dent, as far as I know, isn't being thought of as a huge character in the film, and therefore, casting is going to be held off until the last minute to help get media attention once the film starts shooting. (Since they're doing some initial shots/perhaps some teaser stuff next month, I'd expect late Jan- early Feb to hear about a decision). This, of course, is pretty obvious if you pay attention to the facts out there and don't let the mostly false rumors cloud your judgment. The character is being treated more like the Fox role in Begins, as it's a nice role with some investment into future films, but it's not the largest character in the film. They will need a big name and a strong resume to help add some star power to the next installment, hence the "aiming high." Obviously theyre looking ahead to the big Two-Face pay off for part 3.
Why can't we at least get some kind of definitive statement about that? Something that will silence the "OMG but teh Dentz is wyte!!!!!!!111111on1!!!!" crowd, for pity's sake!I hope that helped clear some things up for everyone.

Man, if that's how things end up, I will be extremely disappointed on that front. Dent is a character that needs to be fleshed out in as many films as possible, before he turns. I already thought he got shorthanded by not appearing in BB, but if he gets crappy ass screentime in TDK as well, they've seriously missed a big opportunity.
Thanks for the info though. Keep us posted.
If he gets short scenes in the film, akin to Fox in BB, I see no possible way of fleshing out the character in the way he deserves. Sure, the time he gets might be nice, but quantity goes along with quality.Keyser Sushi said:A.) the QUALITY of Dent's screentime in TDK
Which takes away time from his post-scarring. That's one of the major reasons why the character literally should be split among multiple films. It's 2 totally different people.B.) the amount of time he has in BB3 pre-scarring
Won't matter, I doubt if there's a Nolan-directed BB4, Two-Face will have any significant role.c.) if they keep him alive at he end of BB3?
