There are two scripts finished on this movie. One was written by Mark Frost (X-Men 2 writer) or Don Payne (My Super-Ex Girlfriend writer) which includes the villain Silver Surfer. Although many votes are heading to Payne's script, FOX hasn't announced which script they would pick yet.

*I truely hope that FOX makes the smart decision and goes w/ Don Payne's script......i believe most people will agree w/ me when i say that the reason the 1st movie didn't work is b/c of the script and weak dialog...everything was there for the 1st F4 movie but the script.....

Wee bit premature here. We don't know what is in Payne's script. And my views on this matter, have been made quite clear here. Payne is a 20 minute tv writer, allthough excelent, making a 20 minute cartoon, and writting a 2 hour movie script, is like going from a VW to a Cadilac. I don't think he has the credientals except The Simpsons, (a Fox product by the way) to write for a major motion picture like FF. Let him work his way up as many other writers have. However, if they do decide to go with Payne's script, I hope it knocks our socks off.

Well 1st of all....according to wikipedia.org.....we do know what is in Payne's script...silver surfer
and i would rather go w/ Payne's script which would offer a fresh and new insight onto the franchise than to continue w/ the bland and flat dialog that Frost uses as seen in the 1st movie.........

I think they've already chosen a script....confirmed by Avi, over a week ago, so I think this is actually too late....

BUT, I would have to read both scripts to be able to even begin to decide...

LMAO...I wouldn't use Wikipedia for much of anything except a good laugh every once in awhile...

What do you want to bet they get a lot of their information from here?;)

My money is that they're going with Payne's script and they've known they were going that way for several months.

Good or bad? I have no idea at this point, but I'll be very interested in finding out more about My Super Ex-Girlfriend (sounds like it may be a throwaway movie, but it'll be interesting to see if Payne can inject anything interesting into it).

Personally I'd like to hold off on a Galactus storyline, but I'm also interested to see if Galactus and some fresh writing talent could result in some new energy.

What was the article that stated Story and Frost are back for F4 2???? wasn't their an article about that.....don't get me wrong...I wasn't exactly overwhelmed with Frost's first script, and the shooting script was alittle better.....hell I'm all for giving Payne a shot....

I don't mind ANY storyline as long as the 4 are the focus....and they are a focus of 4, no 1.5 shiitola....:)

Also, this has yet to be mentioned by anyone....but has anyone noticed that the actors have spoke little, as in nothing, about what they thought of the script from the first movie???? they've spoke of each other, story, etc.....but none of what they thought of the script......silence speaks volumes to me.....

Yea we know the SS is in Paynes script. What else is there is a matter of great conjecture. And what quality is it ?

I don't remember Avi confirming anything. He's always been opossed to the SS, and or Galaticus, until they put out a SS movie, and besides it's Fox's call, since it's their money. And it being Fox's call, that worries me.

That was December 4th. Almost 6 months ago.

I'm not even close to sure, but if you put a gun to my head and asked me to pick which script they did/will go with, I'd say Payne's.

Part of my logic:

When that casting call showed up, it seemed completely false. We all knew that SS and Galactus wouldn't be in the sequel, right?

But wait a minute. Maybe they will do Galactus. Suddenly that casting call doesn't seem so crazy anymore.

In a very recent interview with Payne, he made a "no-comment" when asked about the script.

I'm assuming they have chosen by now (and that Variety report was based on old information). If they've chosen, and went with Frost, I don't think anyone would have a problem with Payne saying it didn't work out. The only reason I can see him being bound by secrecy is if he is currently doing confidential work for Fox/Marvel.

Also, I just think Galactus is much more marketable than Puppetmaster or mole man. I think a lot of people at Fox and Marvel will jump at the possibility of doing a Galactus/FF film even if the characters aren't really ready. They're likely to generate a lot more buzz (both good and bad though we all know there's no such thing as bad publicity) by going full guns.

That's a LOT of speculation on my part and I wouldn't be surprised if I was completely wrong, but my gut's telling me we're getting Galactus.

Now, on the off chance I'm right, let's hope they gave Payne a lot of Kirby/Lee and Byrne mags and hid all the Ultimate FF's.;)

MLV Conference Call dated 5/4/06.

Avi confirms script.

I thought there was an article, yeah that was a long time ago.

For some reason my gut is saying no to Galactus...I know I've been wrong before....SS good possibility....Galactus this early....hmmmm....

So I guess we will have to see....

Well if they are going with Galacitus, AND the SS, they better be ready to open the vault. It's going to cost a ton for spx for 6 charactors. I don't believe Fox will pony up the dough. Not for a frachise that's just getting started. And what do they do with Doom ? If they go with Galacticus and SS, it would make the most sense to have them appear at the END, of the movie. Mabey 1 to 2 minutes at the end.

I'd like to see Doom worked into an SS and Galactus story. I think they need to do more with Doom since he was not done right in the first movie. In any case, it will be interesting to hear what is going on with the sequel.

Well, I put out how I would do it.

Do the FF sequel. About 1 minute before the end, pan to the heavens, and see the SS flying thru the hevans. After the filming is all done, shoot a scene with the watcher warning of Galactius's comming. Save that.

In 2008, bring a SS, and Galactus movie. Let them do their thing, then at the end have them heading towords New York. Then put that scene of the Watchers warning , that was shot after they finish with FF 2.

Then in 2009, or 10, bring out FF 3, picking up at the point after The Watchers warning.

That's the way I would do it. It introduces the SS and Galactius, gives Dr. Doom his due, then bring the SS, and Galactus on in FF 3, if that's the way they want to go. And I'm not the sharpest peanut in the turd.

Advance tickets for x3 go on sale here on Wednesday. :)

I'm sure they'll go with Frost's script. I hope they do. Story has been prepping work for THAT script. So suddenly having to change gears is not a good thing. And I think Frost could do very well if he;s not writer #12 and just plain writer of a script.

And I still think they shouldn't bring the Surfer in now. Leave him as a cliffhanger for 3. Bringing him in would be advancing the story in a forced way. Just not a good idea now. Finish the Doom arc then for 3 The coming of Galactus.

I know alot of people want to see Galactus. But doing what's better for the story is more important.

But once again. Story has been prepping, scouting, making storyboards(pun intended) for his and Frost's idea. They release date has already been moved up. Let's not make it harder.

I just looked out my window. It's 86 degrees, and It's snowing. I think hell just froze over. I agree 100 %.

Well looks like we've pretty much discussed this little detail into immaturity....

My post has now been ruined hasn't it

Knowing Fox, they will pick the shortest, worst and cheapest to film of the two scripts.

I agree whole-heartidly with all but this:

But I also hope that if they actually were making a choice between the two scripts, they did so looooong before we ever heard about it.

But the fact that these rumors are still going on makes me just think there's more of a chance they are going with Payne.

They didn't have any Problem saying Frost was the guy in December, so I think, if they were going with Frost, they'd be saying that now and putting these rumors to rest (particularly since there are a lot of people who would get excited about Galactus, and I think they'd want to prevent those people from getting their hopes up for a let-down that could sour them).

I think they'd be more reluctant to say they're going with Payne because (if the rumors true) that would confirm Galactus and they want to keep things under wraps for a while longer. Confirming Frost wouldn't give anything away.

I could see them picking Payne's script just to get Silver Surfer into the mainstream so they can launch his solo movie,of course we don't know how much of a part SS is of Payne's script, perhaps he is just a cliffhanger but somehow i doubt it
