SDCC 2007- DC Comics Edition.

Well, she's already done a run on Superman's comic, so she's not just a "female superhero" writer (although her most famous book is Birds of Prey, where she writes numerous complex, strong female characters). I agree that some people would like to see a woman write Wonder Woman; but she has a track record, as noted, for strong, complex female characters, so you can see why many would want her to take on DC's biggest female icon.

Ok?....

I think everybody's making a bit too much of the "best strategist" comment; every writer of a major character wants to make their character look really good in their own title. Simone is saying she will write Diana as a great warrior and strategist; using words like "best" is slightly hyperbolic, especially since, in a shared universe with multiple titles and authors, no one character is ever established definitively in most cases.

in all honestly i don't really have that much faith on her run. her superman run was average at best. Not a fan of birds of prey, so i don't know how she handled that book.

She was great on it. Welcome to Tranquility has been a slice of awesome as well. I'm looking forward to Simone's WW run. Yes, it's kind of backwards-sexist to pair arguably the biggest female name in comics to the biggest female character in comics if you're looking to politicize the issue, but Simone has said that she'd love to write Wonder Woman on a few occasions, so I just look at it as another top creator getting their choice assignment. Nothing new as far as the industry goes. In the end, it all comes down to whether it's a good comic for me, and Simone on WW certainly sounds like it'll be a good comic.

Who's doing the art again?

This Superboy lawsuit is rediculous. DC should just suck it up, pay the Siegels and get it done with. That said, the Siegel estate is filled with greedy bastards.

whats that all about? what lawsuit?

1. Batman is. :o

2. While the "best strategist" thing does play into it, personally, I'm more referring to her other comments.

Now, I may just be kind of forgetful about some things, but exactly WHERE has Wonder Woman shown vast amounts of graceful strategy that just goes about trumping others?

Breaking Necks, Helping Ignite Crisises, that doesn't sound like strategy to you?! :o
