Daredevil Season 2 Confirmed for 2016!

YES. This is so awesome. I was confident that this would get renewed but in the back of my mind I was thinking that maybe Marvel just wanted to stick to their Defenders saga plan and "technically" AKA Jessica Jones would be considered as "season 2"." So, so, happy about this.

It sucks we're losing DeKnight, he is a great showrunner. I'm a HUGE Spartacus fan and cannot recommend that show enough. Deknight was probably the reason why the show had such great brutal action scenes. Hopefully this continues with these new guys.

I would not be surprised if Daredevil's success has changed things quite a bit for Defenders. Marvel Studios is accustomed to radical change. When Marvel Studios was created, Marvel didn't even have the rights to Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, or Hulk and their initial film slate was to include the Power Pack, Cloak & Dagger, and Shang-Chi.

At this point, I would not be surprised to see Marvel include more characters in the Defenders saga like the Punisher and Moon Knight due to Daredevil's success.

Not sure how best to use him. Give him his own series or use him as a floater who goes in and out of other character's series and kinda ties everything together. Punisher outside of dealing with costumes superheroes is boring and just a Charlie Bronson/Death Wish knock off.

Don't see why it should. I'm sure that Marvel and Netflix had it in the back of their minds that if this was a success they could do a season 2. Not too familiar with the comics but could they do the Elektra saga to lead into the Defenders?

2016 was already looking good, now it's great. As far as Defenders go, if I remember correctly Iron Man 2 was a spur of the moment thing after the success of the first one. This isn't too surprising, but awesome nonetheless.

Awesome news! I was afraid they wouldn't be able to commission a S2 until all their Defenders shows had been completed first. This is a much better scenario than I dared to hope for.

I was looking into the new showrunners and the show seems to be in good hands. Both wrote for the show in season 1 and Doug Petrie wrote my favorite Buffy episode.(Fool for Love)

I'm glad, but I hope in 2016 we get Luke Cage, Daredevil and Iron Fist. Pushing back Iron Fist in favor of DD is the right financial decision (kind of like making Iron Man 2 before Thor and Captain America), but I'd rather see an Iron Fist show still come out in 2016, with The Defenders in early 2017.

I'm thinking they'll keep it at 2 a year. So DD and Jessica Jones this year, DD and Luke Cage next year and Iron Fist and Defenders in 2017. That is of course if Jessica Jones and Luke Cage aren't huge successes like Daredevil.
