Daredevil Season 2, Episode 13 "A Cold Day in Hell's Kitchen" (USE SPOILER TAGS!)

Not sure what you're talking about, he's not even in costume for the last 15 minutes of the episode :oldrazz: Adn the only time he takes it off is when he's having a serious conversation with Elektra about their future together, and he probably reckons she rather look at his real face instead of a mask.

haahah thats my bad,. i meant that convo with Elektra and when she was stabbed. Again,. just a small nitpick on my part lol It just bugs me when Marvel has their hero always take their masks off for final scenes in movies

Haha :oldrazz: Well actually, Nobu knocks the helmet off of him, so that's why he's not wearing it when Elektra is stabbed.

To play devils advocate, he had the mask on for most of the season. It makes sense to take it off when he's talking to Elektra and having an emotional moment. It fit the moment. He put it back on to fight and then Nobu punched it off, probably so we could see his face [BLACKOUT]when she got stabbed.[/BLACKOUT]

So is
Jessica gonna be working across from their office? Or was having Alias on the opposite door a quick thing?

That said Atlas. I believe it's a bit of an Easter Egg to the predecessor to Marvel, Atlas.

Really wish they'd had Frank don the skull shortly after his prison escape rather than just an even breifer reveal than the DD suit got last season. The final fight seemed kinda anti-climactic, the roof fight with all the ninja's seemed kinda sloppy, the Nobu fight was nowhere near as awesome as the season 1 fight with him, and it probably would've been better if they hadn't had Castle show up at all considering how little he did, with how few Hand ninjas were left its not like Matt didn't already have the situation in hand at that point. I didn't hate the finale, I quite liked it, was just disappointed in the final fight since the show has proven multiple times both this season and last season that it can do better.

Agree 100% When I went to watch it there was a glitch and it said there were 14 episodes so I was under the assumption episode 13 wasnt the last so when I finished I was so underwhelmed. As epic as[BLACKOUT] Karen's speech[/BLACKOUT] was I was just underwhelmed completely. also they left waaaay too many things open, and why the frick was the final frame of [BLACKOUT]elektra[/BLACKOUT]?

I seem to have missed the Daredevil Billy Club swing scene. Can anyone point me to the minute or scene it happens in this episode? Because I can't find it for the life of me. I wasn't paying attention while I was watching and it's irritating me.

That scene was so epic, just watch the whole episode again lol

My one critique about the final fight on the roof would be that it could have been a little less dark and in the shadows. It got hard at times to watch and make out things.

Karen's speech was meh, It pales in comparison to the one Ben Urich made in Season 1 ('Because of those who take more than they deserve'), the idea was right, the Punisher article didn't matter anymore, but the execution wasn't that good

I didn't really like the final speech either, but I think that's just because I got a little sick of Karen towards the end. They tried to involve her with everything far too much, and Foggy was side-lined in the process, especially towards the end.

I enjoyed the episode. I nice end to things while clearly leaving things open more than last time.

The way DD and Elektra were talking you'd think there were 50+ ninjas. At the end there wasn't and they pretty much handled the situation. DD would have managed against the remaining 4 Frank took out.

When Frank came upon the weapon cache. I was hoping for 50+ ninjas so Frank can go off of them with that mini-gun. Clean house like Terry Crews in the Expendables.

Also didn't care for the speech. Maybe it's because who was giving it. We saw way too much of Karen this season.

I didn't have any problem with Frank
appearing to just shoot a few ninjas, on the contrary, I quite like it. This was DD and Elektra's fight, he didn't need to get involved in any way, but his support was more of an acknowledgement moment to Matt, like they wrap up that whole DD vs Punisher story arc on a good note.

In general, I loved the way Punisher was portrayed in the series, like a force that just comes and goes and leaves you wonder what's he up to everytime he's not on screen. And that was also true about the finale. I really hope we see him again anytime soon!

On another note,
the ****ing billy club! I was so happy with the way they made it work, and that swinging scene was just spectacular! Would love to see them utilize more of those sweet-ass special effects next season and make him use it in different ways in the fights, just like he does in the comics.

Punisher's walk at the end as he walks away from his exploding house deliberately has no upper body movement so we can get a super clean shot of the skull. :D

It was a good but not great finale. It didnt have any real standout moments that really wowed me.

But as a Season it was outstanding. I loved it and want to see Season 3.

Frank is the last episode is useless

Glad to see when Kingpin will be out of prison, Fisk vs Punisher

Maybe in Defenders, maybe in season3, maybe never

I thought the finale was a bit anti-climactic in the end to what has a been an overall great season. I was really hoping that Punisher would team up with DD and Elektra in the end fight, not just sharpshooting from a distance for a couple of ninjas, but getting involved in hand-to-hand combat right in the thick of the battle. Would've been nice if Stick had joined in as well.

This would've been a payoff to the whole series. We've already seen plenty of DD and Elektra battles, and with the ninjas and Nobu already. So this was just more of the same. They needed to mix it up and make it different for the final battle.

Punisher was just sidelined in this final episode. Also, we never got a very long, lingering look at his skull, or a very clear shot either. And I wasn't a fan of the outfit Elektra was wearing at the end. I wanted her to be in red. This just reminded me of Jennifer Garner's non-red outfit in the DD movie.

I think this season lacked a clear big bad. They could've invented someone who was Nobu's superior amongst the Hand, and not just have him keep coming back from the dead.

Surely they could've found a way to have Punisher and Stick in on the action at the end? Punisher joining in would've been a slightly redemptive move in that he's now not just being a vigilante but a hero as well who is helping DD out (even if it involves killing a bunch of ninjas). DD and Punisher's story together didn't feel finished, but having them team up one last time would've brought it more to a satisfying conclusion.

I think it wouldn't have been so bad had Marvel and Netflix not been heavily promoting Frank in his skull costume gunning people down with gattling gun in their promos and posters. I think that was a little disengenious to tease us like that and not deliver.

But they didnt? They premiered the look a week or two before the show dropped. Showed up in the final previews and that was it.

I agree. Amazing, amazing season, but the final battle was a bit of a let down. With all the buildup with the police lighting up the roof (reflecting Matt's dialogue about shining the light on the hand to scatter them) and Karen saying this could be the end of vigilantes in New York, and the intense anticipation of the entire roof being occupied by a whole army of ninjas, what we got was pretty mild and it felt more like Nobu and a small party rather than an army of Hand ninjas.

I would have had Matt and Elektra fighting for their lives, clearly overwhelmed, and when they're about to lose, Frank shows up in full Punisher garb, toting that big Gatling gun they teased and lighting the roof up! With that kinda firepower he would have been a one man army. The rest could have stayed the same, I liked Stick's part at the end.

I can't help but feel robbed that we didn't get an epic rooftop battle between DD+Elektra+Punisher vs the Hand army on a rooftop with the police and media watching. With all the promo art of the 3 vigilantes, I thought they were leading up to that.

And I can't really think of a reason they didn't go for that beyond maybe budget issues? Anyways, absolutely incredible season, it's just the finale was an 8 or 9 instead of a 10 or 11 like the rest of this amazing show.

Punisher showing up gunning down the Hand to help DD and Elektra would've been amazing. Even if he didn't play that much in the episode, if he showed up like that it would've made up for it and would've been a moment the audience cheered for. But not just gunning them down. I would've liked some hand-to-hand combat with him getting out a knife and brawling with some of them.

It would be a bit like the final battle in Spider-Man 3 when the New Goblin finally showed up to help Spidey against Sandman and Venom. Although the film wasn't great, it was nice to finally see them team up. But in this case, instead of the one showing up dying, it would be Elektra who dies instead. And then it would be just DD and Punisher in the end on that rooftop when they've defeated everyone, with DD cradling Elektra's body.

Then maybe Punisher might put a hand on DD's shoulder and say he knows what it's like to lose someone, and they would come to some kind of understanding and mutual agreement where they don't get in each other's way and are loose allies.

overall, I wish the finale did a few things different, but I'm overall happy with the season.

And I would say yeah, Karen Page had way too much to do and I maintain Urich should've been kept around for this season.
