Well, the trailer for this ep made it look better than it was. Which is...weird for the CW, lol. Still a good ep, though.
Things I liked:
-The Lena/Sam scenes were the best part of the ep, imo. Glad we're finally getting down to brass tacks on that, and Katie and Odette play off each other beautifully.
-Mon-El's suit!
-I am SO GLAD Kara didn't back-peddle on all the truth she spouted at Mon-El. It was all on-point and was long overdue. And as I mentioned above, it felt like the new showrunners acknowledging the stuff about their relationship that didn't work last season, and that gives me more confidence that they know what they're doing on this front. I can get on board with this Kara/Mon-El friendship, and I hope it stays in this arena.
-I always like seeing the gang just hanging out and having fun, so I was glad to see them continuing to have game night. That opening sequence created a false sense of this being a quirky fun episode, lol, not that I'm complaining about the change.
-While I'm not thrilled that this M'yrnn storyline is a thing, I can't deny some of these scenes are tugging on my heartstrings.
-Nice to see them back to acknowledging the Blight as a race. Still don't know how exactly Pestilence has evolved into that, but I'm intrigued to see how that's handled.
Didn't like:
-As I said, the M'yrnn storyline just feels unnecessary, and the whole "he makes everyone attack each other" felt like max-filler material.
-Cape fighting. LOL.
-Would be nice to see Alex/Kara acknowledging Lena and Sam's absence considering the major crisis they know Sam is going through.
-James and Lena still have negative chemistry.
Overall, I liked it slightly better than last week just because it was nice to get back to the Reign plot, which is definitely a highlight of this season. BUT I was still expecting a bit more from the trailer.
