dvertising Age reports that while NBC is moving forward on a fourth season of "Heroes," you can expect fewer episodes.

NBC is expected to trim the number of episodes of its sci-fi drama it airs next season, according to people familiar with the situation, and also run those episodes closer together to avoid interruptions to the story line week by week. The network is considering running 18 to 20 episodes of the series in the 2008-2009 season, those people said, down from 25 this season.

Woohoo!!

Let this piece of crap die already!

So you're glad the series is getting shorter and you hate it, yet you still watch it?

I'll tell you a secret.....if you don't like it, don't watch it. Pretty darn simple.

I personally like the show. Any program has ups and downs....I don't think this has been as down as some proclaim. I'm one that feels that shorter seasons are better for the quality of any show.

i totally agree with you. imo, thats what went wrong with season 3. it gets dragged out. the second half stinks imo, its called heroes, when you barely see them use powers. sometimes i'm like, "am i watching law and order?"

I used to watch it, I catch an episode or two every now and then.. They focus too much on claire :(

This is a GOOD thing. They should have gone to the shorter seasons and airing once a year a long time ago.

I also think it is a good thing. Less filler, more to the point.

It will be good for the show and it's not a bad sign.

Probably because of all those fan mails I sent, sorry :hehe:

Agreed. This is a serial, and by the nature of serials, it cannot be episodic. Every episode must move the overall plot forward. However, it seems like the writers on the show pick a starting point each volume and an ending point for it and forget to map out how the hell to get there so they just kinda write it in as they go and because they have more episodes than story to tell to get to that end point, they use a **** load of filler (case in point, the most recent episode that once again explored Sylar's messed up head while taking us no where). The reduced order will only be good for this show.

Absolutely agree that this is a good sign.

I would also like to see them focus the entire season on a single Volume, instead of breaking it up like this season. But that's just me.

Hopefully, this tightens up the continuity and pacing issues.

That's hilarious. Everyone is completely thrilled. I especially like the idea of having only one break.

Bingo. Just like Season 1.

Hopefully next season is a little more Fugitives and a little- eeh, well, alot- less Villains.

That's because for this show it is a good thing as well...the writing staff sucks. They are incapable of making a full season of good plots. Hopefully this will improve things.

To be honest I think the main reason is probably financial, Heroes is an expensive show. If it means a tighter, better plotted and more cohesive season then all well and good.

I don't see how the show could get any worse so.... I'm sure it's a good thing.

We knew this already....but it can only help them. Less filler, more to the point episodes and not so much time to mess it up. Sometimes I think Heroes would work better as a 12 episode series each year then the usual 22.

Probably, even though I liked season 1... It still had a lot of inbetweenie pointless crap.

They shouldve done what they planned after season 1 with all new characters and familiar ones just popping up every now and then
