Season 6, Episode 7 "The Broken Man" Discussion Thread

Nothing adds up to Daario being the Harpy anymore.. it did for a time.. but nah... if he is it will just come off as another stupid moment in Essos no one gives a **** about.

Agreed.

I feel like being a fan of Daario and/or Essos is sometimes like being a Trump supporter in San Jose.

edit - The evidence I saw for the harpy theory was that in Daznak's Pit the harpies went after the masters (and Daario had told Dany she should pull a Red Wedding massacre with them).

there's just nothing at all worth watching in Essos that isn't a "Dracarys moment" imo.

The whole Harpy situation in the show is just weird. In the books there's a few likely suspects, most of whom have been adapted out, and I do think it'll factor into the fate of Meereen pretty heavily. I kind of thought that the show would just forget about them after the big moment last year at Daznak's Pit, but they're still around and the trailers show some form of conflict with them this season so that would indicate that there's something to the show Harpy as well.

I'm more talking on the book side where Essos is concerned. It was a downright enjoyable horror show in ADWD.

book wise... no one makes sense as the harpy.

Watch it ****ing be Missendei

Essos was pretty fun in the books. Brown Ben Plumm, the weird and wacky court of Meereen, Barristan the Badass. I enjoyed it, and I look forward to the Battle of Fire immensely.

I do like how, Meereen in ADWD kind of became a weird Essos version of King's Landing. I always thought if they wanted to get more experimental with the show in Season 5 they could kind of have that take KL's place as the prominent "intrigue" plotline.

Tyrion and Varys are worth watching no matter where they are. I could watch an entire episode dedicated to them managing the cluster**** of mereen.

i mean tyrion has turned into an absolute joke and dinklage portrays him like he knows it.

I really don't get that impression at all. Tyrion and Peter seem no different to me. This season he's essentially doing what he did in season 2 and he wasn't a joke then. So why would he be considered a joke now?

the harpies work for the sparrow

jk

Varys is the one who seems diminished to me. He's had scenes where he says little or even nothing!

The best we've had from Varys was when he paid off the not-green-grace lady. It looked like he was getting back into old form. That said, I did like seeing him get...perplexed by Kinvara.

The way he basically antagonized Kinvara seemed a little out of character to me.

IIRC, it was Tyrion's plan to bring her aboard. I don't think Varys wanted her.

Seriously, me too. :p

Almost that time...
