Season 7 Spoilers and Speculation

Supergirl could be an interesting new addition. I’m going to try and remain positive about this until I see something play out onscreen that makes me feel otherwise.

As long as Clark remains the focus, but he has this little sister/cousin character to play off, who could also reveal aspects of his Kryptonian heritage to him, I’m OK with things. Clark will be a mentor to her too, so that could prove to be fun as well.

Atleast it’s not another love interest character being introduced. Lol.

i wonder when they'll start giving spoilers out for what will happen next season?

I would be extremelyexcited by this if I thought it was going to be done well but like every storyline in Smallville Im sure they'll mess it up.

Im not a Smallville hater. I think its infinitely better then the dreadfull Superman Returns mainly because of its amazing cast but Gough and Miller have seriously screwed up what had the potential to be the best live action TV show ever.

Sounds cool, I just hope Supergirl doesn't turn into Smallville's version of Cousin Oliver from the Brady Bunch.

i have to agree. It has its good moments a lot but, season 6 started to drag a bit.

Exclusive: Supergirl Soars Into Smallville

Look, up in the sky: It’s a bird… It’s a plane… It’s Supergirl?! When Smallville returns for its seventh season this fall it will be revealed that Clark Kent (Tom Welling) is not the only member of his family to survive the destruction of the planet Krypton. His cousin Kara “was sent to Earth in a ship that arrived at the same time as baby Kal-El’s,” reveals executive producer Al Gough, referring to Clark by his Kryptonian name. “But there was a problem and she’s been in suspended animation for the last 16 years. We’ll find out in the season premiere that the big dam break in last season’s finale is the reason she’s finally awoken.”

Gough says this latest visitor from the DC Comics universe “will help Clark get in touch with his Kryptonian roots. With his [adopted] father dead and his [adopted] mother moved to Washington [to become a U.S. Senator], and Lana blown up, suddenly there’s some family in his life.”

Like her cousin, Kara will have enhanced physical abilities generated by Earth’s yellow sun. “She has all of Clark’s powers and a couple he doesn’t have yet,” Gough teases. “She can fly. And her response when Clark asks why is ‘obviously girls mature faster than boys.’”

Kara, a teenager when Krypton exploded, was sent to Earth by her father, Zor-El (Kal-El’s uncle), to look after her younger cousin. But while in suspended animation she didn’t age and now it’s Clark who must be the mentor. “She becomes enamored with our culture: clothes and iPods and stuff,” Gough says. “We’ll have a lot of fun as she gets acclimated.”

Kara makes her debut in the season premiere of the CW drama and will appear in about half of this season’s episodes.
A casting notice is set to go out shortly, and producers hope to unveil their new addition at July’s Comic-Con International in San Diego. –Rich Sands

Supergirl

huh,

^^^^

How the eff will they explain that?

There was already someone named Kara in "Covenant?"

with her memories manipulated by jor-el into the mould of kara's. but then if kara was meant to raise him that wouldn't make sense because clark would know the difference

So...there was a real Kara and Jor-El used that one girl to have memories of the real Kara?

Hey, it's Smallville, it'll work without questions probably.

Still not happy.

Even if they went the route of the annoying little sister that has to have her ass pulled out of the fire all the time because she has a habit of getting into trouble, I'll still see her as a snotty brat no matter how precocious they make her. This is almost worse than bringing a baby onto the show.

THIS is how they want to advance Clark's story going forward? And lets not forget the new editor of the DP, the "hot young 30 something" that will be the new love interest for Lois. Seriously, WTF?

Looks like you and I are in the minority, Whiteflag.

I'm finding it hard to remain positive when there's NOTHING in any spoiler I've read so far that even remotely interests me. It's like deja vu to last summer, Lex and Lana, the bambino and Green Arrow. Pfft. I'm gonna try to not think about how utterly horrendous the 7th and potentially last season of SV might be, so I'm off to push some weights around. Maybe that will help blow off some steam.

<- cherishes her S5 set more and more every day.

we don't know whats going to happen to her character yet agentpat. You say you didn't like a lot of the spoilers for series 6 but there were still things you loved about it. It will balance out- we haven't heard anything about lex's storyline yet or chloe's. I'm thrilled we may finally have more of a chance of a flashback episode to krypton. The fact that kara will remember jor-el, lara and the world should be thrilling for clark. The only bad i can see in this is the characterisation of kara. Hopefully she will not be like dawn in buffy and an annoying twerp. She has the potential to kick ass, have the emotional one on one moments with clark and provide comic relief while she gets used to things like toasters :p

I agree with Pat. These are not good news for season 7 for the reasons she explained.

I'm not too fond of this either. I like it when Clark is the last survivor of Krypton. It gives a sense of loneliness to the character.

Oh, i hated dawn. The little freak who kept cutting herself and going "is this blood".

Ok see right here this storyline is straight from Jeph Loeb- Superman/Batman storyarc "The Supergirl From Krypton" (issues #8-13, illustrated by Michael Turner)

:cmad: SON OF A :bomb: :bomb: :bomb:

referring to Clark by his Kryptonian name.

So , Clark's going to fall for the same trick twice ? Lindsey Harrison does that name ring a bell "Covenant" - Season 3 finale, she was used by Jor-EL to bait Clark to embrace his Kryptonian heritage and accept his destiny. possing as Kara Zor-EL .

“But there was a problem and she’s been in suspended animation for the last 16 years. We’ll find out in the season premiere that the big dam break in last season’s finale is the reason she’s finally awoken.”

What? Let me guess , her rocket from Argo City was caught in the explosion of Krypton, became encased in a kryptonite asteroid, and she arrived on Earth and landed at the bottom of that Dam :whatever:

The only reason I can see them doing this is to create a spin-off tv series, Because having Kara arrive before her cousin becomes SUPERMAN is totally messed up (The mythology of Kal-EL being known as THE LAST SON OF KRYPTON !!!! :super:) not to mention it's not really Necessary, In Fact this season Clark should be alone doing his Global Quest .

I just wish SV gets back to basics and starts to focus more in on Clark Kent and him becoming Superman. IMO Season should be the last season and I would love to see SV go out with a bang.

  • Lex becoming the person that he is.
  • Clark finally letting Lana go.
  • Chloe dead.
  • Perry White at the planet (long over due given how long he is suppose to be there before Lois even started which is over 10+ years)
  • Lois working in the Planet for about 3 to 5 years.
  • Clark traveling the world learning more about Krypton and who he is and who his family is.
  • Clark coming home to Smallville after being gone for a few years and him and Martha talk and they come up with the suit and glasses and for the final scene if we can't see him in the suit; then have him step off the bus like they did in Lois and Clark.

All I saying they have a lot more on their plate to worry about then doing something with Kara. Hell Kara isn't even an important figure to Superman at this point in his life. In both the movies, Cartoon, and Comics. There really is no need for her to be on the show or to have the editor of the Daily Planet be in love with Lois unless they are setting something up like Superman Returns with out the kid. But even then it is a dumb idea. SV needs to just work with Clark and Lex and make them into the men they will become and start fading out the rest of the cast.

I wish I could be able to push some weights too. :(

Last season there was NO arc for Clark whatsoever and this year he's going to be looking after a, potentially, annoying girl with superpowers? And maybe being a little jealous of the new love interest for Lois? How exciting! :whatever:

since when is clark the last survivor of krypton? That is exaggerated beyond belief. Not only do we have supergirl who has been around since the 1950's we have zod, ursa and non, in the comics the whole city of kandor in a bottle and power girl.

Oh, i hated dawn. The little freak who kept cutting herself and going "is this blood".

oh i'm there with you, not only was she annoying she fecked up 4 series of the show to the point you are not sure what happened previously because of the dawn factor

I knwo what you mean. But, i think we're jumping the gun a bit i mean we ahven't headr anything about the series yet. For all we know she might be minding the farm while, Clark goes on his global quest.

i think people liked the man of steel version were Clark was the sole survivor of Krypton.

I think during thsi season Lex should leave Smallville sell the plant, the mansion and the talon to someone and then **** off to Metropolis like in Birthright.

Despite the Fact I think this a Huge Mistake, I'm willing to let it go. And sit back & watch how this turns out . It might be the messing element we've been missing for the last 6 years, concering Kal-EL Kryptonian Kryptonian heritage , an in-depth look at Krypton's history as well as The Family Legacy of The House Of EL :super: .

Prehaps well get more than 1 episode that focuses on Krypton, Prehaps well finally get some flashback scene's of Jor-EL & Lara, Zor-EL & Allura ,The Final Days of Krypton, the birth of Kal-EL etc ...

Yeah Right :whatever: I wish .

Still I'm going to give this storyplot a shot .
