Heh.. I called for Kristen Bell to be cast over on B.T. yesterday. She'd be PERFECT.
What's cool is that KB is at least on a friendly basis with both Tom and Kristin (Kreuk) because there are candids of her having fun with both of them at CW events.
AND remember.. Tom and KB won that recent poll we were pumping... there were an awful lot of voters in that poll - maybe TPTB were paying attention.

One can only hope.
Does that surprise anyone? LOL... The more 'vocal' of the posters on TWOP hate everything (they just like having a place to ***** and sound cool

), and Sweet people truly only care about Lana and Clark.
What's the reaction at K-site? Or DTS? The one thing that is consistent across the board - is that people are
talking. Methinks TPTB aren't so dumb after all.
Oooh.. thanks for laying that out. I knew he was 19 or 20, but I always forget when his birthday falls (approximately) in the season. Good rule of thumb about subtracting 10 from Tom's age.
I think the actual mentoring will be more in terms of the practical differences of a human society vs. a Kryptonian one.
If indeed Kryptonian society is cold and No Fun, this will be an interesting contrast to Human society and how differently Kryptonians respond to the different environment. A lot of who our "Clark" is, is truly attributable to being raised by humans in a human society. This whole scenario just goes to further prove how truly unique and alone Clark is in this universe.
There's no doubt that it's an attempt to boost ratings, but isn't everything about that? With all the recent success of Spidey movies and Heroes, and the big numbers of the mythology episodes last season, TPTB are just going with it and trying to give the people what they want (so they'll tune in.)
I agree that it sucks to mold the show *only* in terms of ratings, as opposed to quality story-telling - but we can only hope that they are going to try and serve both. So I don't mind the ploy for ratings as long as they do it justice and keep the real heart of this show at the forefront.
I find this twist interesting. What does this mean for the Chloe/Jimmy relationship? Maybe it's just a one-sided passing teenaged crush on the part of Kara? Or is the Chloe/Jimmy a thing of the past at this point?
LOL.. I was trying to figure out how they will incorporate the 'other' Kara into the story. I think it could be as simple as Jor-El needed a name for a beautiful young Kryptonian girl and Kara is the one that his limited memory cells popped up. The fake Kara never said she was Clark's cousin (I don't think)... that's just the excuse that Clark used to explain her to Lana.
Did she? My impression was that Raya was just a Kryptonian woman who was also Jor-El's loyal assistant. Is that part of the Kara backstory? I honestly don't know.
Oh man.. they REALLY need to get back to the FOS. I think everyone misses it. And what a cool setting for them to use on a TV show - I know that seems so simple, but it's part of the major coolness factor, IMO that distinguishes SV from anything else on TV.
I've also been wondering about the flying thing.
What if what Kara says is correct and Clark really can't fly yet? I know the ability is within him since we saw Kal fly - but perhaps the red-K was needed to make that latent ability accessible to him at this time. It's like his other abilities, and how they all had to come in their own time and took a little work on his part before he could actually control them.
I dunno.. I'm babbling here.. but that seems to make sense to me. The ability is there, but perhaps he doesn't have full access to it yet.
And girls DO mature faster.
