Transformers Second Lieutenant: The Jazz Apprectiation Thread

I couldn't find one and no one made one, so I decided to make this thread in appreciation for the short-lived second lieutenant, JAZZ

gee thanks for the pics! jazz' face was never given a close-up shot in this film unlike the other autobots. worse, he didn't have a lot of screen time either. it's as if bay doesn't want the moviegoers to remember jazz that much.

For me i don't think a fictional character has been nailed better than seeing jazz breakdance and transform for the first time, i wet myself. almost as good as wolverine's cage fight in the first x-men film.

jazz did breakdances in the toons? too bad, my memory is failing me. :cwink:

there are G1 episodes where Jazz breakdances, if I remember correctly the one where Blaster was playing the tune so Loud, the Bots in the ark got upset, but Jazz was dancing instead.

Yeah, they could have just shown Meg's severly beating on Jazz until he was nearly dead and then Prime shows up and Ratchet helps Jazz.

Something like that would've worked. Or they could have also shown the remaining fragment of the Allspark reviving him at the end. I would've prefered the former over the latter though.

Not really, Megatron NEEDED to be taken out in this movie, otherwise he just would have reaked havoc on the world. Plus, its always easier to bring a bad guy back from the dead for some reason :woot: .

I think they could have just had Megatron get the crap kicked out of him by OP and somehow escape instead of killing him off :cwink: , but it seems that it is easier to kill a bad guy and bring him back rather than doing the same for a good guy, they better make a HUGE exception in the case of Jazz. :oldrazz:

I agree, they didn't have to kill off Jazz, but I have faith that he will be revived in the follow up.

Yeah, it could have just shown a brief scene were Jazz is struggling to get out of the way of the OP-Meg's fight, and then Ratchet comes along and helps him, would have shown he was severly damaged.

Yeah, i do want him back, i just hope they do it in a way that it is a one-shot thing, meaning it can never be done again.

^ Oh yeah I agree, you can only come back once, anymore than that and it will be just pointless, so don't die twice Jazz:cwink:

I just love the scene were Megatron arrives at the final battle, and Ratchet is imploring Jazz to retreat, but he just stands his ground and takes Megatron on.

He was just awesome.

I think I've said this before. Since Optimus Prime wasn't there it was Jazz's responsibility to cover the other's retreat by taking on Megatron. He had to have known that he didn't stand a chance. That's what makes him so cool, imo.

Exactly, even though Ratchet was imploring him to retreat, he wouldnt he just gave a quick look at all the humans behind him, and stood his ground to protect them. An awesome little moment in the movie IMO.

Wasnt Jazz the First lieutenant??

and why did the kill the only transfomer that talks like he's black

This film was racist in a lot of ways :woot:

Just kidding... well now that I think about it....

Its funny though, Jazz was possibly the most heroic of the autobots in the whole movie (though Bumblebee and OP run him close).

Ratchet and Ironhide ran away when Megatron arrived, Jazz refused too, despite probably knowing he didnt stand a chance.

Once he was all of the people behind him when Megatron arrives, i love the way he stands his ground and draws Megatron's attention. A very brave and heroic act IMO.

I agree, Jazz did not run, he went right at Megatron knowing full well he may not live and also went right at Brawl when he was showed up, Jazz was tough, fearless and very heroic and we want him back in TF2.

Agreed on ALL accounts, i cant stop watching the scene on Youtube, i didnt notice in the cinema but when Ratchet tells Jazz to flee, he turns around and see's hundred'd of humans behind him, THAT is when he stand his ground.

A truly heroic scene.

That is interesting. I didn't see that. And I saw the movie twice. But it seems to me that people are painfully inserting logic and rationale into scenes that were not properly shown by the direction. I dunno.

That's right, they ran to keep Sam and the All Spark safe. Jazz was giving them a diversion to let them get away.

>^..^<

Not sure actually, at that point Sam and the Allspark were down the street in no danger.

I saw it twice in the cinema and didnt notice it either, its only when i re-watched the scene on Youtube. Type in "Megatron attacks" you should find it.

I know, he is slowly becoming one of my favourite characters in the movie.

Just watched the scene again, and he definately only makes a stand once he sees all the humans behind him.

Slowly becoming one of my favourite scene's.

He is one of mine for sure, but then again I like them all :woot:
