I'll post the link later but does anyone else think perhaps Lucas has been planning on this since Revenge of the Sith?

Many of you are aware Star Wars was originally a 12 part epic and that Return of the Jedi was originally the end of the second act. However Lucas has time and time again denied that there was anymore after Jedi, but can this be true? In 2003-2004 (whenever in production this took place) Peter Mayhew signed a deal agreeing to return as Chewbacca in Episode III, one of the conditions being he was also to return in Episode VII. Was this just a formality or was this a sign Lucas always planned on doing at least a seventh installment? Discussions begin.

There have been vague plans to do a Sequel Trilogy, but nothing concrete, particularly given that Lucas became so disillusioned by the vitriol and hatred leveled against him for the supposed poor quality of the Prequels and his 'well within his rights' decision to tweak/alter Episodes IV, V, and VI and consign the original versions of those films to the vaults of Lucasfilm that he made the decision to deny that said plans existed and to end the SW series at 6 films and that he was not going to let anyone else continue his saga. This has since changed, obviously, with the passing of the Star Wars baton to Kathleen Kennedy and the announcement of the Sequel Trilogy.
