Shadow of War

If you can ignore it as easily as MGSV's FOBs, it's not really a deal breaker.

I pray it's different enough from MGS5, so I don't need to constantly unplug my internet cable. Even when I didn't play with the FOB, because of the always online bs, the loading times got slowed down to a crawl.

I imagine if everything within the market place can be obtained playing normally, then there must be some sort of grind in there somewhere.

Use real money to buy it in seconds, or farm for hours and hours.

I know I'm late but I just saw on another site that the developers of this game have apparently turned Shelob into a sexy shapeshifting woman, and I just wanted to say

**** them. **** them and their game and their boners and everything they cherish and love in life. I mean not that I ever had any plan to play this piece of ****, but still.

Cheers.

It's true. it's a page over in this thread. And it's before the fellowship formed.
they also stated they're adding the first ever black character literally to middle earth. It's in the article above you (at the bottom) about microtransactions too.

Can someone explain what micro transactions are to me?

Also, put over 50 hours into MGSV and not come across the FOB stuff yet so this doesn't bother me too much.

Oh man, Well micro transaction are a thing used in the market place for games where the games formerly have walled off content that should be in the game. it's usually useful gear play could find like an epic weapon that kill all enemies in one blow. so basically they are nickel and diming you.

this video goes into better detail.

[FONT=&quot]Shadow of War has recently announced The Market, a system that allows players to buy loot chests, war chests, XP boosts and bundles, a combination of the three. Should fans be concerned with this addition of microtransactions to Shadow of War? Having visited developer Monolith and played the game just last week, Johnny Chiodini explains how it all works and whether he thinks it'll be worth your hard-earned gold.

Thanks, so you have to pay actual real life cash for these items I take it? If so, I can see why people are angry. It's stuff like this that puts me off modern gaming.

well as the video says and the article from PCGN, I put up that not really fully the case that there's not real pay wall or locked out of good gear etc for real world money.

but we'll have to see when the game comes out.

it's due to other studio's and publisher's being shady/ greedy with that in the past on why gamers are angry that was how things were. it was formerly how they made extra money added future content some evil already had the content made a long time ago but with held it to milk players.

Right, yeah according to the video you don't have to buy this stuff so I won't be.

I will be waiting for a Definitive or GOTY edition anyway like I do with most games so it shouldn't effect me too much.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a new trailer for Monolith’s upcoming Shadow of Mordor sequel, Middle-earth: Shadow of War.
In Shadow of War, Orcs now belong to factions that extend the influence of the Overlords ruling the game’s fortresses. The factions provide players with “a rich ecosystem of missions, exploration and a dynamic Orc society with diverse Orc cultures, all brought to life through the expanded Nemesis System,” according to the publisher.
The trailer below offers a look at one of these factions, the Terror tribe. This faction of Orcs are master tormentors who specialize in spreading fear throughout Mordor.

Last week, Monolith revealed that Shadow of War will contain microtransactions in the form of loot chests which can be used to upgrade Orc followers.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War launches October 10th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

tribute to late executive producer Mike "Forthog" Forgey.

Shadow-for-War-Forthog_08-31-17.jpg

Fallowing an “Orc Tales” trailer earlier today, Warner Bros. and Monolith Productions have released another trailer for Middle-earth: Shadow of War introducing the “Forthog Orc Slayer,” an orc slayer based on Shadow of War executive producer Mike “Forthog” Forgey, who was lost to cancer during the game’s development.

The Forthog Orc Slayer will be released as paid downloadable content, with $3.50 from every purchase made from the United States (excluding Alabama, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Mississippi, and South Carolina) going to the Forgey family through December 31, 2019.

Here’s Forhog Orc Slayer’s description, via Warner Bros.:
A legend among the Orcs of Mordor, Forthog Orc Slayer is an unstoppable warrior who saves Mordor’s mightiest heroes at their moment of greatest need.
Mike “Forthog” Forgey was our Executive Producer and great friend here at Monolith. He was always ready to leap into the fray and save the game whenever and wherever he was most needed. We lost Mike to cancer during the development of Shadow of War, and we want to remember and honor him with a little bit of immortality in Mordor. The legendary Forthog Orc Slayer is our way to continue having Mike leap into battle and save us when we’re down.
We hope that you will share in the experience of being saved by the legendary Forthog Orc Slayer as you enter the land of shadow.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide on October 10.

Complete ********... Shelob is not a shapeshifter in the books. So no, she couldn't choose to take the form of a woman if she wanted to. The reason they turned into one is because the people behind this game are clearly immature and uncreative.

I need to make something very clear here about the DLC charity character, for the developer's family who passed away. For some reason a lot of people are not reporting this.

1. Only $3.50 of the $5 price tag goes to the family. The rest goes to WB.

2. This is only for those who purchase it in certain states in the USA. In many states (mostly in the south) and any other country (including Canada), all the money goes to WB. You will not help the family by buying in Canada, Alabama, the UK, South Carolina, etc.

WB Games are making money off this man's death. It is as disgusting as it sounds.

TotalBiscuit made a very good video about this:
