Yep, I do. I was super pumped when she was officially announced way back. She's a phenomenal actress and super hot imo (regardless of the set pics)

i was being facetious, what i meant was that, as the poster above so kindly demonstrated, to most people it seems mj's looks are more important than anything, more important than her personality, more important than the relationships she has with other characters, anything. what we deserve to see is HOT mj, and not a good interpretation of one of the most interesting characters in the spider-man mythos. who cares about having a pretty actress who is talented beyond her years if we can have someone mildly talented but that is super hot amirite

no, but they are willing to accept a so-so actress as long as she "looks the part" over a amazing actress who doesn't fit their own idealized and oversexualized version of it.

I was disappointed to hear that Shailene Woodley would be cut from TASM 2, though I can understand why they did it. Hopefully she can come back for The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

Based on comments that Shailene has made recently (about wanting to take a break from acting and staying away from other big fim franchises after Divergent), I think its unlikely that she'd want to return (assuming that they don't just cast some other actress in the role). I also think that it's highly unlikely that Gwen will actually die in this film based on the numerous "hints" in the trailer and promotional materials that point to her death. I think that Webb and co. are trying to mislead us.

Trust me, I really want Gwen to die too. I just don't think it'll happen in TASM2, and I think that it's for the best. With all that's being introduced in this film, I almost think of this as part II of the first film. Let all of these new characters breathe for a while, and let happen in the next film.

As for Shailene, I know I've said this many times, but I highly doubt that Sony would ever cast an actress for the role and then fire her because of complaints about her looks.

Unfortunately, we'll probably never see Shailene's cut TASM2 scenes. That being said, the people in charge of making these movies and casting these characters have. They got to see Shailene say the famous Jackpot line. If they were really impressed by Shailene's performance as MJ, then I'm 100% positive that they'll do everything in their power to bring her back once MJ finally makes her big debut, and we'll be in for a real treat. If they weren't wowed by Shailene's MJ or if nothing can be done by the studio to remedy potential scheduling conflicts, then I'm positive that they'll search for an actress equally (if not better) suited for the role, and we'll be in for a real treat.

The way I see it, it'll all work out for the best...hopefully.

Yes, clearly they are going for the 616 version. Because they had her say the famous jackpot line. Clearly she is supposed to be the exciting knockout next door. Maybe the studio felt as though Shai didn't really fit for THIS version of MJ they were going for/ wanted.
