Shane Black Directing Predator Sequel! - Part 1

I think Black just took a picture of the woods behind his house and posted it to see how many fans would go crazy trying to find something in it.
Which is why I spent approximately 30 seconds looking at it and coming to the same conclusion. Not that I have some great Waldo power but I also don't think everything Predator related has a hidden one in it.

“We just finished [reshoots] last week, and just about three-quarters of the third act was rewritten,” confirms Key. “And Shane Black is… he’s just a consummate professional, and a consummate writer. He’s a wordsmith! It was a really, really exhilarating experience, and I think that he’s still one of our most vibrant writers of cinema.”
Surely if he was that good he'd not have needed to rewrite it in the first place? :p

Sometimes things that you might think play well actually don't when it's put together. This is Shane Black anyway. The man knows when something isn't working he'll know what to do with it.

The reshoot twist will be that the Predator is just a actor in a costume hired to play the role of a Pred :)

I have faith in Shane too. :)

So much for making this a summer blockbuster event, huh?

It moved a few weeks only. From the end of August into September. A movie as cool as Predator and R Rated would be decimated by the blockbusters if it came out in peak summer.

I'll be happy as long as it has a better third act than the last film.

I personally don't think that'll take much. I really hope this turns out good, but I think it's just gonna be one of those properties that should have been left in the past. I LOVE the first two, but they were a product of that time period. I so hope I'm wrong, but I'm scared this is the Alien franchise all over again. Then again I had crazy high hopes for what Blomkamp was shooting for with Alien 5, so maybe this can do the same for the Predator franchise.

movies go through rewrites and reshoots

some are minor, some are major

I just rewatched Predator 2 recently, I enjoy it just as much as the first one

We just saw a pretty badass first trailer for #ThePredator. It begins at Halloween with a little boy opening a box that has a toy alien ship. As he plays with it, he is actually controlling a real alien ship, crashing it on Earth
#CinemaCon

Predator trailer slowly ramps up the action, detailing how the creature is evolving, featuring multiple scenes of battling Predator. Olivia Munn stood out as the one getting in on the most action. In theaters 9/14

I needs it.

Also interesting he chose Halloween instead of Christmas.

Predator on Halloween night makes sense actually. I mean it is associated with horror, terror, ghouls, supernatural things etc.

Predator attacking on Halloween? That sounds pretty cool and should make for some interesting situations!

So basically they are trying to turn Predator into Monster Squad?

I'm pretty sure I read a comic years ago where it said Predators would experiment on themselves to make them better at all aspects of becoming better at hunting, fighting etc.

Another description from JoBlo

Just saw #ThePredator teaser. Lots of set-up and mystery surrounding a mission that Boyd Holbrook’s character was on where he encountered an “alien”. We see a ship crash land on Earth and various shots of the Predator in various places.

We see Holbrook picking up a Predator mask, Jacob Tremblay messing around with a Predator gauntlet and Olivia Munn talking about how The Predator is evolving from planet to planet. Lots of action, blood, explosions and guns. #CinemaCon

Now, the universe's most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before.

Please, not again. We already had "Super" Predators in the last Movie, that turned out to be nothing more than a joke, compared to the first two.

Not exactly thrilled by the idea of genetically enhanced Predators, but I have faith in Shane Black's ability to get this right, so I'm on board until I otherwise have something to dislike.

I actually loved the idea and exectuition of the Berserker Predator in Predators.
