Shocked the reactions are positive. Maybe it won't be a disaster?

I wonder how the humans will know the Predators have jacked them selves up or how it will be explained in the film.

I saw everything quite fine in the Theater. But the DVD/Blu-Ray release was somehow twice as dark. It was unnatural. Even the day scenes looked like the sun was about to go down.

Possibilities of a trailer with Deadpool 2?

If it's not attached to Deadpool 2 then it will really REALLY look like studio doesn't know what to do with this movie and they just wanna drop it with minimal marketing campaign

Yeah, kinda sense the general audience has no idea there's another Predator flick coming. Usually I hate all the "the marketing hasn't started by ___ date, they don't know what they're doing!" crap, but you'd figure Deadpool would be the time to start with a teaser.

We're coming into the summer time so now is the time to launch a movies campaign. 3/4 months out is the right time. I don't get this new thing where fanboys think huge blockbusters get teasers 10 months out and now expect that from EVERY movie. It's a September release and we've just started May.

Is this a direct sequel to the one with Adrien Brody? Or the original Predator 2? With all these crossovers with Aliens and and Aliens themselves having spinoffs, I'm losing track of whatever continuity they're attempting. Almost feels like a Terminator situation where they keep rebooting everything after T2, and every reboot is supposed to be a direct sequel to T2 until it flops, then another one comes out touting to be THE OFFICIAL sequel to T2.

Yeah. Predators probably still counts as in-continuity, but not like there's any reason to really reference it.

I'm curious to see if they reference Predator 2 at all?

Really both of the sequels can still be in-continuity technically, there just might not be a need to mention them. I mean Predators referenced the first film, but not the second, after all.

Yikes, thank goodness they changed the design.

I think Black said his film is set in modern day (a sequel to 1 & 2), whereas Predators is in the future, so not relevant to this.

Gary Busey's son, Jake, is apparently playing the son of Garys character from #2.

Curiously, if Predators is set in the future, then I wonder whether those (new) Predators we saw are somehow the end result of whatever hybrid or enhanced Predator we seen in this new film.

Doubt they'll get into all that. It's probably left open enough that fans can assume that if they want, but probably no direct references to that movie/those predators. Plus they seemed sort of more primitive/primal than the regular guys, rather than more advanced. Almost like some cult that broke away from the original guys centuries ago and went totally native.

Also didn't even put together that Predators is supposed to be in the future - haven't seen it in a while though. But it can't be that far forward, given the human guns are contemporary, and Fishburne's guy's a Vietnam vet and seems around early-60s maybe. Also that initial idea of Dutch appearing toward the end which Arnold didn't sign onto. Leaves a pretty narrow window for how far forward it could be, still pretty much "current day" in a loose sense.

And heh, that's the clearest pic I've seen of the Van Damme Predator, pretty interesting. I don't even hate it - it's nothing on what we ended up getting, but in any other B-grade 80s sci-fi/monster movie that thing wouldn't be any worse than its peers. Interesting colors on it though, I'd always heard it was bright red.

Basically has to be, with the Noland/Schaefer ages.

The Fox twitter feed I follow, tweeted the "Something is Coming" line too.
