Shane Black Directing Predator Sequel! - Part 2

This is the thing that doesn't add up to me, Black is a smart guy and he has access to a computer, I find it very hard to believe that he just heard his buddies side of the story, looked at and read nothing, and then was suddenly blindsided by the truth of what is buddy had actually done.

For the most part I think Fox are getting a pass on this as they at least reacted in the right way by removing his scenes, most of the anger is towards Black and now towards the male cast that have hung Munn out to dry.
Yeah it's shocking the cast have been able to operate like that. Maybe it's my tin foil hat again but I think it's another symptom of the chaos right now with Fox. Any other solid studio would have come down on the cast like a ton of bricks and made sure they backed Munn.

Exactly, and yes Fox is in disarray right now with the change over, I mean I would have thought the cast were contractually obligated to make these media appearences to promote the film.

I'm sure they were obligated and just taking advantage of perhaps no one there to hold them accountable for it.

I'm really disappointed with Trevante Rhoades. @Hunter Rider is right tho, no way in hell this cast leaves someone like Cate Blanchett or Theron to do press on her own. I do fully expect them to speak and join Munn now tho, their agents don't want any more bad pr.

Having said that, still going to see the flick.

One interesting aspect to come from this is apparently studio's aren't allowed to do proper background checks on actors. That is what Fox claims. Is the SAG really that powerful? That's insane.

Now i'm trying to remember this dude in 'the nice guys', but can't think of a scene. I hope he didn't have ANY interaction with the actress who played Gosling's daughter.

I really am looking forward to this movie, even if there is a bad taste in my mouth about what's going on. I dig Black as a writer and director but....yeah.

Eep. Hating the whole bulletproof-skin thing, it's just way too much.

if you go back since the beginning of this thread I've always stated I thought Munn is the worst actor of the bunch and I don't care for her acting but she had every right to bring it up and for the make cast to do this is really disappointing and the movie was growing on me but I can't support any movie that hires guys that have been convicted of sexual misconduct towards teens I for one have a nieces hitting that age and everytime they leave the house i'm consumed with what may happen to them out there so good for Munn bringing this to light

I didn't like it when I heard what Black had done in hiring that guy....but I'm pissed now to hear that some of the actors from the movie are shunning Munn because of her getting his scene removed.

I didn't read that as the reason. I'm seeing that some just don't want to make a public statement and or talk about it during interviews.

Then they could have said they didn't want to talk about it. Instead they didn't return her messages about it and she said one walked away from an interview they were both doing. I've seen many celebs when asked something by a reporter that they didn't want to talk about simply say "I'm not going to discuss this."

yeah reminds of when Bay and company did that to the Turtles so unnecessary

Sidenote on the bulletproofing: I'm one of the few that'd even would like a non-bulletproof batman suit.

It may be irrational, but it would rise the stakes and make bats as even more of a bad*ss.

If you're going from a reality standpoint he wouldn't do that though. If you're going out every night beating up thugs you will go for the body armor.

Love Olivia Munn, she was right to speak up, but she didn't handle the situation with Black and her co-stars very well. She reported the guy and the scene was cut from the movie. Shane Black publicly apologized for the entire situation and took the blame. At this point what else is there to do? Nothing, really.
Instead now I have to read that the cast members are scumbags for not wanting to do an interview about something they don't even have anything to do with / to say about? Nobody's defending the guy. He served his time. He sure won't pop up in any other movie again. Not that he was gaining any fame from it, or making big waves. What the **** should the cast say about that? And if Munn is upset about Black not apologizing to her personally, she could pick up her phone, as well, and talk about it to him like an adult person would do, instead of stirring up drama @The LAT.
Still like her, though. You know, I can manage not to hop on a bandwagon just because I don't see eye to eye with a person's action.

Aside from this olivia munn circus is anyone planning on seeing this opening weekend or waiting a while to see how word of mouth is?

Aside from the controversy, the movie is hot garbage. Is it violent? Yes. Is it gory? Yes. Action-packed? Yes. But it's badly edited. It feels like it's missing about 15 minutes of story. Bad acting. Bad jokes. Bad performances. Bad characters. Nothing ****ing makes sense.

Black has basically taken a bigger defecation on this franchise than Paul WS Anderson ever did. The mythology of the franchise has been ruined.

The editing and plotting basically reminded me of Transformers 2. The stuff with the kid is terrible. The kid is horrible. The ending is horrible.

The only good thing I liked about this was that Henry Jackman actually used Alan Silvestri's music, and I enjoyed hearing those themes again. Unlike in Terminator Salvation or Genisys where they used none of the iconic music.

Olivia Munn Hasn't Heard From Director Shane Black in Wake of 'Predator' Controversy
One of those actors, Keegan-Michael Key, was due to catch a flight out of Toronto and was not among those scheduled to be a part of THR's interview. Key's rep issued the following statement to THR: "His last interview was scheduled after lunch, which he completed. He was always departing TIFF early so he could be home to spend the Jewish holiday with his wife. Furthermore, Keegan reached out to Olivia privately last week to let her know how proud he was of her and echoed that sentiment in many interviews since then."

So are lack of background checks why Disney didn't know about certain tweets? ;)

Just saying.
