I would watch a Director's Cut for this movie, for sure. Some of the stuff the article points out does smell like interference or getting out a subplot and such.
This I don't buy. You don't work on a movie for years of your life just to stick it to a franchise you hate. This just sounds like fanboy anger boiling to the surface. I think Black was definitely making a movie he thought was good. It just turned out wrong for the property he was working on. It happens.
Oh damn, not again.I would watch a Director's Cut for this movie, for sure. Some of the stuff the article points out does smell like interference or getting out a subplot and such.

Absolutely no reason is given. There is suggestion that humans are an endangered species and that's why but it's never really said. Not to mention the Predator trying to save humanity is still pretty much killing anyone it can find. It's all ridiculous garbage nonsense. Just like Olivia Munn's performance, the kid and pretty much everyone else in this giant flaming turd.
I truly believe Shane Black has secretly loathed and hated Predator for the last 30 years and really just wanted to destroy this series for good.
He doesn't know how to shoot the creatures either.
I believe Shane Black would.
Plenty of people in entertainment world have spent years of their lives working on shows and things they hate or aren't passionate about.

It's the only reason I can justify him allowing that horrible ending.
Quite frankly, him doing this movie was a bit of a shock to me. I always got the sense from him he wasn't a fan of Predator.
So, where do we go from here? Will this be the Movie that forces the Studio to reboot the series? Will they actually make a sequel to this train wreck of an ending? Will they wait another decade for a sequel and just ignore this Movie?
Preferably nowhere. Especially after the way they ended this flaming pile of hot garbage. This franchise needs to put to bed for good. It's worse than where Genisys ended things.
Why does it have to be a question of where we go from here? Why can't things just sometimes end and exist as they are?

Because it is a franchise and as such there is always an interest where things are going. This isn't exactly anything Earth shattering or new.
If this is in fact a franchise, it's one of the worst franchises ever. It's not much of one.
Why? Based on what exactly?
