I'm lazy. Someone tell me if this reboot is a remake or a sequel.

Be sure to quote so I get the answer. Thanky. Appreciated. :D

We'll tell you when they figure it out for themselves.

Yeah but sequels turn into reboots and remakes frequently as well.

It'll probably be like the other films. Technically sequels, and making a few references to what came before. But they're mostly standalone movies, and I suspect that this will be in that regard.

so u cooked up a story and dropped the 6 of us in a meat grinder

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson might be in the film:
The rapper revealed in two separate interviews (via Bloody Disgusting) that he might be appearing in Shane Black's sequel to the 1987 sci-fi, which also starred Schwarzenegger.

He shared to SiriusXM's Shade 45: "I'll be doing some new feature films and stuff like that too. I'll do Predator."

While neither Black nor Fox have confirmed his casting, 50 Cent affirmed in another interview with 99 Jamz Uncensored that he expects to be in the franchise movie.

"I'm working on some new projects," he said. "You heard of the movie Predator? I might be a part of that project this summer."

Also, saying "this summer" I think would indicate they intend to film this summer.

Exclusive: Shane Black Reveals When ‘The Predator’ Will Take Place
He also addresses the possibility of Arnold Schwarzenegger returning to the franchise.
ShaneBlack said:
Well it means that I’m working on the script, and barring an act of God, a safe from the sky, there’s nothing that suggests it won’t be the next thing, and I’m getting more and more excited day by day. I mean, there’s great Predator movies, but to actually play with the idea of making it an event, not necessarily in scale—it doesn’t have to be huge—but it just has to feel like a Predator movie you want to see in the summer and line up for it. And that’s what we’re going for. Let’s get back to the excitement and innovation of that original movie where it felt fresh. I just want to find a way to make it feel fresh and that’s what we’re trying to do.

The Predator to Begin Filming by October
Corporal Hicks said:
The Predator to be filming by October according to Agence France Presse. With his latest film, The Nice Guys, due out at the end of May, Shane Black has been out promoting his upcoming comedy film. He has also been dropping some bits and pieces to do with his next project, The Predator. Talking to AFP, Shane Black revealed that filming on The Predator would start towards the end of the year:

Shane Black also spoke a little more about the scale of The Predator, hinting at a larger budget than the previous films: “Black said it would be a significantly “bigger” film than its three predecessors. “To the best of my knowledge, the train is rolling. It took some convincing because they’ve been putting out these movies all along with a $50-60 million budget, and they all had a guaranteed return.” Black previously spoke about the scale of his Predator sequel, describing it as an “event film”, something that people would be queuing up to see.

No cast has been confirmed, however Curtis James Jackson recently talked about the possibility of his appearance in The Predator and Arnold Schwarzenegger has said he is meeting with Black and would love to return. Speaking to AFP about Arnold, Shane Black said that Arnie’s involvement in The Predator is “something we’re looking into.”

Is this movie seriously going to be called "The Predator" now? The filmmakers couldn't come up with a better title?

The only reason I still have any interest in this movie is because of Shane Black, I honestly don't care if they get Arnold or not. The Predator(s) itself will be the main attraction for me.

Guy's hear me out. How about an all women team to fight the predator?

If there is black yelling women in movie I am all for it. She also unlike others will know "the streets" or jungle or planet. Depends where this movie is settled :o:o

Only if the Predator is also a girl. :o

What's wrong with "The Predator"?

Great stuff. I guess Black waited around long enough between KKBB & IM3, he's moving on these films as fast as possible now. I think he said he wanted to do Doc Savage next year.

Sexist and racist all in one go. I'll play the typical SJW and ask why there is a problem with women being capable fighters? The literal definition of masculinity had to resort to tricks and wits to defeat the Predator and another guy had to use a cheap shot to do it but women are too incapable of thinking or acting like that.

If they want to include female fighters in this movie I have no problem with that. But I know you were being trollish sarcastic with this inane comment so I'll let it slide.:awesome:

Sounds like someone hates the internet and wants to see it burn down in the flames of outrage. :o

But you know what, a female Predator might be cool. Do they even exist? I've only watched the first movie, tbh.

Obviously they do although we haven't seen one in the movies but they exist in the comics and the books. And we know next to nothing of their culture either so we don't know the structure of their society. For all we know the males in their world are the weaker sex and this is how they compensate. Or they are just an exaggerated version of Earth's humans and the males do this because they are trying to reconnect with nature. Or something.

Actually I'd be all for male and female predators as well as some male and female humans against them. We've seen female predators in comics and things like that. I think it would be cool!

Yeah I remember reading about female Predators in a few issues back in the day. Would be cool to have a female Predy being like the big boss. Queen Predy!

What if the males hunt trophies in order to attract the females as mates? The greater quality of the trophies, the better the mates they'll attract.

Well, how much sex does winning Ahnuld's skull earn you? I'm willing to bet a lot. :o

Oh we don't? That's weird, I mean, this being such an old property I assumed that by now they'd have already exploited the crap out of it, just like they did with Star Wars.

About the female Predators, if they do appear I hope they're not just Predator with boobs (yes, I just googled them if you're wondering. I saw some very interesting fan-art. Da heck ) because that's kinda dull. This is an alien species we're talking about, they'd better get creative.

Unlike Star Wars, the people running the Alien and Predator franchises have no idea how to exploit the properties and keep fumbling with them time and again.

Ahnuld's skull would earn you a years worth of sex with Queen Predy. I'm talking peak Ahnuld here. Current version would get you blueballs.

^ :hehe:

Well, at least that will give Black more freedom to write his own new canon without getting entangled in years of "expanded universe" fluff, lol.
