Shane Black Directing Predator Sequel!

Am I the only one who could give a f#*k less who the actors are? I mean it's Shane black we're talking about here. The guys one of the best filmmakers we have today

Shane Black is great but I'm into this because of the fact that it's a new Predator film in the franchise and not just because of the director and possible actors.

I want to know about Predator the most and see images of him in action!

Is that really a good thing? When's the last time a new Predator movie ended up being good?

I don't get the complaints against him. I thought he played a badass mercenary.

ME too. Honestly it wasn't until now that people seem to have a problem with him.

I liked Predators overall too

That's a dumbass question, of course it's a good thing for fans and the past films aren't universally hated to make it a fact.

If you aren't into the franchise then why bother? Following a director that you like every film he makes?

A director and/or an actor making a film great is awesome but in the end for this case, it's all about the franchise.

:pal:

I'd say reception to Predators is mixed overall. It did ok at the box office. Decent audience ratings on IMDB and RT

I personally really enjoyed it. I wish we got a sequel.

Im really looking forward to this. I don't see if you've liked any of the Predator films why you wouldnt. They have a good writer-director, they're clearly going for talent.
Since there's no story details yet, if you like the concept of Predator I don't get why anyone would be skeptical yet

Technically this is the sequel. Shane Black said that although it's a direct sequel to the original Predator 2 and Predators still exist in his universe.

You know what I meant. A direct sequel to Predators. One that continues the stories of Brody and Bragas characters

Maybe not direct but I sure am glad that this is a sequel with 2 and Predators existing

My issue with Predators was that, it felt like it came from a good place but ultimately, the skill set wasn't there to ultimately craft a great movie. Only if the screenplay was a little better, only if some of the direction was a little better, etc. It's a movie that straddles at a 79.8 percent but ends up getting a B minus for me.

It was a fun, okay movie. I actually think it did elevate Predator 2 for me in some ways.

Predator is a quality movie I can continually watch again and again and enjoy. Predators isn't.

So far Predator sequels have been better than Terminator's. Hope isn't totally lost.
Note : Brody was one of the best part of Predators, at least for me.

No, it's not. You can love John Carpenter's Halloween and not have any interest in the franchise.

You can love John McTiernan's Predator, and not have any interest in the subsequent movies. An interest which could come back when you have a great filmmaker and screenwriter such as Shane Black on board.

In terms of cheesy horror sequels most franchises would kill to have Predator 2 and Predators as their follow ups. Both are enjoyable as hell and keep their flaws to themselves without crapping on the original.

I find the Preadator sequels watchable. I agree that they are better than the Termnator sequels T3, Salvation and Genysis.

I like all of the Predator movies to varying degrees. They all are something different. Much like the Alien franchise only with fewer duds.

I liked Predators also, it brought something new, and was slightly better than the 2nd movie for me. I wish we did get a direct sequel to it. But I am also happy we are getting this movie. Though I am not a huge fan of IM3.

Are you taking into account T2?

Predator has had gahbage sequels, mayne.

Yes I do. T2 is fine ( minus Connor kid, I just don't like him ), T3 is mediocre, Salvation is bad and Genesis is mediocre/not good. So, 1 good sequel on 4.
Predator 2 is fine and Predators is ok. So 2 ok sequels on 2.
Of course this is just my opinion.
