Don't guess there would be very much competition between them then.

I hope there is a connection to the films in the franchise,In fact I hope there's a scene where someone references the events like talking about the first movie and Arnold's Dutch then be like..

-"In 1997 during a massive heat wave,One of these things was roaming around L.A.battling a cop"

-"In the early 2000's there was in incident in Antarctica and then some small town in Colorado where we have some evidence than links to these creatures and another alien species"

-"For many years up to a few years ago there has been disappearances around the world that also links to these things"

"-Now one of them is back, hunting and he seems the most dangerous yet"

I really want a Movie set in the past. Or a movie that uses time skips. Show us a Predator, that visited earth several times, coming back every 50 years, cutting a bloody path throughout history.

That would be great if this was a prequel or there could be a scene where we find out more about their history on earth and why they keep coming back,Predator 2's ending was such a tease where there were a group of elder predator chiefs and one of them giving Danny Glover's character a pistol like from the old west or something

Glad to hear this is going to be a sequel and not a reboot. I'm also hoping to get some references from the previous movies.

Black said, adding “Why start over, when you’ve all this rich mythology yet to mine?”

That's what I said.

This will be awesome. We're in for a treat.

I was just thinking, would it be unreasonable to hope Glover and Arnold will return to the franchise...

together, in the same film?

I always imagined a Predator sequel with Arnold and Glover returning to team up or at least have cameos like Glover's character watching the news on tv where they show live footage of a Predator and he reacts.

Reminds me of the game Concrete Jungle. Man I loved that game because of the story. Past, present, and future. Was awesome.

An all Pred movie, set on their homeworld, in Predator language with subtitles. Like Apocalypto but with wrist blades and shoulder cannons.

It would be really cool to see Arnold Schwarzenegger return in some capacity.

I think their homeworld should remain a mystery.

Keeping the predators enigmatic is their strong suit.

I would like to see a smaller, more agile predator child hunt an entire marine squad as a rite of passage.

please God dont bring back Arnold.

Depending on where they want to go with it I think The Rock or Gerard Butler would be good

If Dutch and Anna hooked up after Predator, I could see The Rock being their offspring.

Does the original movie take place in 1987 same year that the movie came out or is it set around the Vietnam Era? Then the Rock would definitely be to old to be Dutch's son if that were the case. Maybe The Rock could be "Actor Sonny Landham" who played Billy in the movie & The Rock could be his son that he had to leave behind to go on the mission.

It was def set late 80's judging by their gear and civvy wardrobes.

Also I might be the only Pred fan ever who doesn't care for II. It had some cool moments but I scratch my head at the reverence some give it. It's not that much better than the AVP flicks imho.

Does it really matter if its a reboot or a sequel?

As long as he does this after The Nice Guys I'm fine with it. This is great news, yet a part of me wishes he was saved for Die Hard.

Predator is also at Fox, so who says he isn't? I really hope we get Nice Guys, Predator 4 and Doc Savage one right after the other.

Of course it does, it would feel like a waste to drop Predator like that when the concept can so easily be expanded upon. Shane Black's great, i'm sure he will be able to put his oun spin on this franchise that hasn't realy been able to crack a Predator that wasn't divisive since the original.

I actualy liked Predator 2 and Predators, wouldn't have minded to see the plot of the former continued, but if Shane Black wants to do his oun story, then i don't have a problem with it.

Happy to hear it is a sequel and Black wants to build upon the mythology

I think Black will ignore the AVP films for his predator like Ridley did. Thanks to Prometheus the AVP films are now in a separate continuity to the Alien franchise.

In Predators they mentioned the first film.
