Shane Black Directing Predator Sequel!

Because of the Fox connection, I'd rather see Wolverine being hunted, one-on-one.. It would be a great reason to finally give Wolverine an R-rated action film.
I made a video of this a few years ago and I would love to see it actually happen. :woot:

Predator: Kindred would make a great film. I hope Black takes elements from that and incorporates them into the sequel.

I gave up hope for another good Predator movie after Predators. The first movie is brilliant, a mix of haunted house with an action twist. The second, while scripted by the same guys, is ok, but doesnt manage to avoid cheese like the first one did, its a bit too Holywood action in many places. The first AVP was actually a good popcorn munchin fun with nice setting and production design. AVPR is a spit on the face, and Predators was one of the most uninspired, unexciting, bland movies Ive ever seen

I watched AvP:R again yesterday. Managed to get my hands on a fan version, that did some awesome color grading correction. I still acknowledge that it's absolute rubbish, but it's simply a guilty pleasure. The Predator is just so much fun to watch. Leagues above the portrayal in AvP and Predators, and probably on par with Kevin Peter Hall's Predator in the first to Movies.

I rewatched Requiem tonight, I get the guilty pleasure too, and that blonde chick is hot, really hot. I wasn't staring at the clock.

But goddamn was this a mean spirited movie. They had a shot of newborn babies in a hospital crying in fear as the predalien queen hovered over them. One hour before that, they have a little boy watch his father get killed, then they kill the little boy.

Also, the movie is shot like Marvel's Agents of Shield, like they could not afford lights. It's hard to tell what's going on. I have a hard time distinguishing the predator from the predalien in the final fight.

The whole thing with the Pregnant women and babies still makes we wince. That's something I think they should have left out. And I also think the Bros get too much crap for the Movie. Yeah, it's rubbish, but when you listen to the commentary, you know they did the best with what they had. They were constantly under budget and time constraints. Also, they didn't write the script. So the whole small town nonsense isn't their fault. They gave us some nice AvP action, in a crap setting.

I think the first AvP Movie could have been awesome, had the Strauss Brothers directed it.

The brothers strausse also did a poor job in skyline, which I could not watch and shut off after 15 minutes. That movie apparently also has a harm-the-pregnant-women scene.

They made bad directorial choices in AVP:R on purely technical terms. What was with the lighting?

AVP 1 >> AVP 2.

Those two brothers do seem to have this thing about harming pregnant women. Unfortunately I remember Skyline and though it was better than Requiem that doesn't say much when my opinion of Requiem is so low there are few things I'd rate beneath it.

I thought the lighting was ok. In the theater release at least. When Fox released the Movie on DVD/Blu-ray, they apparently changed the color grading, essentially darkening the whole film, and the Brothers had no say in it. The version I have now, makes the Movie look like it's supposed to.

Funny thing though, while everyone thinks AvP2 is too dark, I thought AvP1 was too bright. Sure, I want to see what's happening, but it never believably felt like they were inside a Pyramid, that's several hundred feet underground. Where did all the light come from?

I saw the movie in the theater and it was still too dark to see much of anything. I felt like I should have brought a flashlight with me.

Oh yeah, the predalien.

I had blocked that crap from my memory bank.

Predalien wasn't a bad idea and came directly from the games, it just made sence for a Xenomorph that came out of a Predator to be like that, i don't see the problem in that at all.

The concept itself isn't bad, I just thought the execution was terrible. It should have been a bigger and meaner Alien, with no dreadlocks.

With Iron Man 3's genre savviness and streaks of satire, as well as his action pedigree, i'd love to see Shane Black do a Deadpool film.

I've been saying that before Iron Man 3. Either him or Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

Does the original movie take place in 1987 same year that the movie came out or is it set around the Vietnam Era? Then the Rock would definitely be to old to be Dutch's son if that were the case. Maybe The Rock could be "Actor Sonny Landham" who played Billy in the movie & The Rock could be his son that he had to leave behind to go on the mission.

I don't think they had MTV in the 1960's and 1970's (Jesse Ventura was wearing an MTV T-shirt when he gets killed).

I wouldn't mind the Predator vs Predator concept again. One Predator comes to earth and just goes on a killing spree, and another Predator hunts him. Funnily enough, I thought that concept was really well done in the Batman cross-over.

Incidentally, I'm working on a piece of fan fiction that uses that same concept. My story happens to be a crossover between Predator & Criminal Minds. You can read what I have done at WWW.fanfiction.net.

I really want a Movie set in the past. Or a movie that uses time skips. Show us a Predator, that visited earth several times, coming back every 50 years, cutting a bloody path throughout history.

I've been saying this for years.

Predator vs Samurai/Ninja

Predator vs Templar Knights

Predator vs Spartans

Predator vs Apache

Predator vs Vikings (my personal favorite)

Predator in Ancient Egypt

Predators during The American Civil War

Predators in the Wild West (essentially the same as Predator vs Apache, but adding in cowboys as well)

The Predator could even be the root of many of Earth's monsters from myth and legend.

Predator vs Vikings = Beowulf & Grendal

Predator in Ancient Greece = Theseus & The Minotaur

Predator vs Apache = The Legend Of Bigfoot

The list goes on and on.

A sequel to the Adrian Brody movie?

I think it's gonna be more of a sequel to the first two movies (Schwarzenegger and Danny Glover). Or, since they seem keen on exploring the Predator mythos further, it could be a prequel. It's still too early in the development stage to tell. But that's what I got from what's been published on the project so far.

Now that they've gone to the "hunting" planet, where else can this series go? The home planet? How skilled should the humans be? special ops? ninjas?

Ah, good. As much as Brody's Predators movie was a step back in the right direction, it still didn't feel quite right.

A sequel to 1 and 2 would be great. Fox seems to be making some pretty good creative decisions as of late. They also need to bring back Winston's Predator face from the first movie. It's the most organic looking Predator face we've gotten thus far.

Is the Shane Black directing this movie the same Shane Black that played Hawkins in the original Predator movie with Ahnuld?
