Never been in a movie where people clapped at the end, except Spiderman 1 and that was extremely awkward. Like who are you clapping to anyway?

Lots of positive subtle reaction throughout movie. In this movie people walking out were pretty excited talking about seeing it again, and some dude giving some reference to the source material to his insanely hot girlfriend.

Audience weep at the end of the movie. My wife cried badly. She was emotional. She was very angry. Why 2 superheroes easily fooled by a teenager. Why batman is so stupid n easily provoked. Why superman didnt but followed his order. Why Lois didn't help superman to overthrow the plot. Why superman got that much torture. Why must kill ... knowing he would return in the next movie.

batman was already pissed about the metropolis disaster. his motivation is more so that a power like superman can't be left unchecked. to dumb it down, it's basically a nuke must either be destroyed so that there are no nukes, or a nuke should be countered with another nuke.

superman wouldn't threaten lex because lex doesn't know where his mother was and he likely was afraid anything he did to him would result in harm to his mother. i don't think this is a problem, either.

A little boy came out crying in the screening before me.

Little boys tend to do that, the cinema is not a good place for under 10 year olds. I know a lad who ran out or the page master and beauty and the beast ffs.

arclight hollywood. good crowd; clapping and some laughs throughout (especially when wonder woman came in and when batman beat the snot out of those guys to save martha). seemed like a knowledgeable opening day crowd.

I went around noonish yesterday and most of the people in the theater were older folks, meaning over 40's, which tend to be more subdued and relaxed then a younger crowd, so i didn't get much clapping at all, just a few when WW came out, and very few after the movie. I would say about 75% of the people stayed in their seats through-out the credits to see if there was going to be an after scene, which tells me these people wanted more.

I did however chat with this 50 something yr old biker lookin dude (sitting next to me) during the credits, and asked him his score and if he liked it? He said he loved it and gave it an 8 of 10.

I'll be at a totally different theater tomorrow in a totally different town (a much roudier one) with a start time of 8pm, so i am expecting it to be more vocal with the clapping ect, as the theater i'll be at tomorrow is the same one i seen MOS at, which got pretty crazy 3 years ago.

It was pretty subdued once the film was over. People just kind of got up and left. Some muttering in the lobby, some people just shaking their heads. I heard some laughter here and there, but nothing outrageous or disrespectful.

During the film there were cheers when certain characters were introduced and during the Batman fight scenes. There was applause for WW especially.

I don't know if the scene of Clark talking to [blackout]his dead father in the North Pole was made clear that it was some sort of daydream [/blackout] to the audience because I was hearing whispering by people thinking it was the Martian Manhunter disguised as Pa Kent. I guess the Supergirl TV show has really made an impact.

I know. I bet she knew too. But she was very upset n cursing the screen writer while walking out the cinema. She said it's painful to watch when good guy got beaten up n ...ed.

I don't understand what people find so difficult to understand. How is clapping in a movie theater any different then clapping in a sports bar?

When you surround yourself around a bunch of people that clearly enjoyed the experience they just had and shared with others, a lot of times that enjoyment is expressed by yelling, cheering and believe it or not...clapping.

@sf2 PUT A SPOILER TAG ON YOUR POST BROTHER, the weekend is far from over.

@The Riddler Same for you brother, i'd be ticked off if i accidentally read your post before seeing the movie.

Yeah that confused the hell out of me. They could've made that a little clearer.

Even then though it wasn't as bad as the ending when we go from:

Lois at Clark's grave scooping a handful of dirt-->Bruce and Diana in the background talking about finding the other metahumans/JL members-->Batman confronting Lex in prison-->Back to Lois at Clarks grave dropping the dirt on top of the coffin.

That was one awkward cut...the last of many.

Like the Empire Strikes Back, which also happens to be the darker, downer ending sequel to another franchise where the bad guys essentially won, which led to a lighter, triumphant return of the good guys in the 3rd movie. Hmmmm....:hmm

sorry. good catch. edited my post.

The reaction in my theater wasn't anything special. No crying kids (lol, save the children!), no standing ovations or booing.

It was packed for one thing. I barely got a seat. People chuckled at the jokes and seemed transfixed otherwise. A couple people clapped at the end, but not the whole theater.

Saw it in Bangalore, India. Audience were going crazy every time Batfleck appeared on screen, made references to Joker, whenever the scenes from the trailers occurred, during Wonder Woman's action entry and many, many other scenes that you can easily guess! It was lively from start to end! Overall, I think they really enjoyed it! I can't wait to watch it again and it's definitely not as bad as the reviews make it out to be! I give it 7.5/10. Most of my friends liked it too! Word of mouth is really good in India! The only part I didn't quite enjoy was the whole funeral part. It was one hell of a drag, but that's just my opinion. Other than that, no complaints!

Zack is totally fine! Would love to see him direct a standalone Batman film.

I can't wait for Wonder Woman and Justice League! She is one of the major highlights of the film!

In my country, people don't cheer or applaud. They laugh a lot and do a lot of empathy sounds when somebody suffers, but that's it. No matter what kind of film.

I remember one guy gasped really hard after all that beating Supes got from Batman, when Supes fell on the ruins, and the whole cinema laughed really loudly but kindly at that, everybody felt for that guy's empathy towards Superman. :woot:

People cry at the end of this movie, and people cheer and clap after the movie ended.

Haha, you are a brave guy saying something like that here :woot:, but hell yea, I would not have any problem with that too. He nailed all the aspects of Batman perfectly in BvS. But I hope Affleck will be directing the solo film.

Sold out IMAX 3D premiere, Johannesburg, SA.

Not a sound during the film. Nobody laughed loud enough for me to hear, nor were there any cheers or applause. That type of thing is unheard of in South Africa. Just silence.

Half of the crowd stayed for the possible end credits scene. At the end of the credits I heard a low collective groan and one guy's "F#%k you Zack Snyder".

I have never felt such scrutiny while leaving a theater. Those waiting in line to see the next screening must have been concerned at the somber crowd exiting.

I'll be seeing it again next weekend, might report back afterwards.

Nonsense, only critics disliked this movie. Because of agendas.

My second screening.

Was "Liemax" on a Saturday night so expected it to be full. Was only half full (the cinema had gone to the effort of preparing huge cue lines which were mostly unused).

Complete silence through out.

Quite a few laughed at Martha's "cape" joke, and

Over the "Martha" revelation, unfortunately

Could hear some crying at the end of the movie.

Comments overheard on the way out were:

"I didn't understand that"

"Why was Wonder Woman in it"

"That was half hour too long"

Quite a few laughed at Martha's "cape" joke, and

That reminded me, a lot of people laughed at that joke. We had really good translation for that in subtitles, so it was maybe more funny than in english.
