'Sharp Objects’ with Amy Adams [HBO]

Agreed Squeeks. Frankly 8 episodes for this book was stretching it anyway. It's the shortest of her novels and everything is tied up by the end. A second season would likely ruin what everyone achieved with this.

It's a good idea to end after one season as much as I'd love to get more of Flynn writing. It takes forever for her to write the new book :/

Did I tell you In the Evening by Led Zepplin is one of my favorite songs? :D They can use it in every episode if they like.

HBO must've paid them an awful lot to use them in every episode so far.

Half way point and this episode is going where there series needs to go now, I knew what was going to happen but still so sad to see it. I feel so sorry for Camille.

Did anyone understand the end of tonight’s episode? I’m not sure if what we saw actually happened or if Camille was just imagining it.

Mixture of both. We know Camille hallucinate's but she did run out of the bar when John revealed that his sister and Amma were friendlier than first thought.

I think she just imagined the worst, that was my take on it. On the other hand this poor woman, it's like what HASN'T happened to her. :(

She is imaging the worst but those shots are cut with scenes that are actually happening. To make her (Camille) doubt herself and imagine the worst. We audiences know Amma will be fine.

poor Amy :funny:

Haha , I did see that interview with Seth Meyers. I've also worked on a farm for a month, it does REALLY STINK.

Damn I thought Episode 3 was crazy but Episode 5 tops it. Also poor Camille. Her mother is just the worst mother ever.

Since when is it not fine to wear black to a barbecue? Is just a thing for people in the South?

I don't know, but all these women are crazy. Snots. :(

It's probably coincidental that I couldn't spot a single person of color at Calhoun Day unless my eyes were playing tricks on me.

Probably not. :(

Adora is a real piece of work. :down

Last episode was amazing and it was particularly impressive because the festival thing doesn't even happen in the book. Clarkson has gotta win stuff for this performance we finally got to see the other side of Adora - one that effortlessly charms all around her. She just keeps getting increasingly more evil with each episode I wonder if we are going to get her
threat that she will carve the last smooth piece of Camille's skin

I noticed that the only time we didn't see the word/title on Camille was last episode probably because that "ripe" delivered by Adora cut deeper than any knife

Reminds me of Rosamund writing her diary entries in a handwriting she practiced to look the specific, innocent way

I finished the re-reading of book and there is so many things that were hard to read and so shocking
- Camille listing the things the cops found in her mother's drawer
- The things Adora wrote in her diary
- Amma lashing out at Camille because she isn't bathing her like Adora did
- the dollhouse reveal

I wonder if they
do the arrest in episode 7 and then the whole episode 8 is the last 6 pages of the book with Camille and Amma living together,
I think that would work best.

Also they did few things differently in the show:
- They omitted some things but the references to Camille's father are still there, maybe we find out more about him?
- Richard, I hated him in the book. Mister good guy cannot even look Camille in the face after he sees her scars then never checks up on her again. He is more 'decent' in the show already so I wonder if he is gonna turn out to be a complete bastard here too
