Shawn Ryan and Martin Campbell team up for "Last Resort on ABC"

My enthusiasm for this series is quite high... which means my feeling it will be cancelled too soon is equally high.

Thursdays... isn't that the same night NBC is airing Revolution?

No. Revolution is mondays.

It is up against The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men and The X-Factor so it will finish third in its timeslot, the question is can it do a healthy enough number.

NBC and The CW will keep their shows on with their low demo numbers but ABC could cancel the show if it reaches or drops below the NBC/The CW's demos.

Charlie's Angels did that last fall. It was officially canceled after the fourth week when it was now being beat by The CW's Vampire Diaries. It did air 3 more weeks before it was finally pulled.

Just saw the pilot and thought it was maybe the most exciting and well-done first episode I've ever seen! Amazingly directed and edited.

Andre Braugher is hugely charismatic in this. And it's great to see Daisy Betts again after that "Persons Unknown" fiasco. And Robert Patrick every week!!

Lots of intrigue, mystery and a boatload of 'what's gonna happen next?' I think this'll be my favorite new show of the season!

There were some minor things I didn't quiet like about the pilot, for instance the Comradery between everyone in the sub seemed a little forced , also Patrick's ''mother of god 'delivery was a bit too much, overall I thought it was a decent start to the series, will continue to watch

Is this the same ep they put online a few weeks ago? If so it needs more Autumn Reeser! :hrt:

It's over-the-top, but it was an undeniably entertaining pilot.

as an 11 year Navy vet I was interested in this series because of the premise. Having watched the pilot I enjoyed it a lot.

If this got less viewers than The Neighbors, I'm gonna start dropping nukes. :o

Some of it felt a bit forced or rushed and over the top... But it was still exciting and Braughers speech at the end was badass. It would have been nice to see how the rest of the world or even just the US felt about the attacks.

you've been warned.. Damn this show is awesome

plus autumn reeser and dichen lachman...oh man

Yeah, I really like this show so far. I wasn't sure about it at the beginning, but once it got going, I was hooked. Braugher seems pretty badass, Speedman is really doing some great work here, and the rest of the cast seems pretty good too. I didn't even know Robert Patrick was in this.

The SEAL guy is my favorite character so far. I loved that badass True Lies/Batman speech he gave the island thugs.

Everybody run for Cover

Last Resort 9.08
The Neighbors 9.22

Don't worry though I'm sure the Neighbors will drop a lot more than Last Resort.

the premise behind this show is very interesting... hope to see it last for a whi;e

I enjoyed it, however I found myself cringing with alot of the over-the-top moments.

Also, the AF wouldn't send a couple B-1 bombers, knowing full well they could be detected hundreds of miles off. They'd send a single B-2 stealth (or 2 for redundancy) and the sub would have about 30 seconds after the bomb bay doors opened before a couple 2,000 lb bombs fell on them.

Of course that would make it a 1 episode show so I guess I'll stop being nitpicky and enjoy it for what it is. Reviewers (critics) on the web are saying the second episode gets away from the tech stuff and delves more into the personal stories...not sure how that's going to play out but the reviews have not been kind.

The show seems like it would make a really great 6 or 8 episode mini-series...which the broadcast networks aren't interested in. Stretching it out for 24 episodes with loads of filler like Lost on an island filmed in Hawaii...again, I could see people taking issue with that...including myself, if that's what happens. They did blow through a bunch of exciting scenarios already in the crammed but thoroughly engaging pilot. Also, the future episodes aren't directed by Martin Campbell, which could also be an issue.
