While Warners did some shuffling (moving 6 Million Dollar Man back a year and moving Godzilla 2 to May 31), this film is staying in its original spot for now.

I'm surprised Godzilla moved to May but I guess with Godzilla vs Kong releasing a year later, it makes sense scheduling wise.

I want it to have a ton of heart. Like a golden age Disney movie. It's the last niche unexplored by Superhero movies. Shazam is a perfect movie to grab those pure heart strings.

It is set in the DCEU...outside of some rumors like a year ago there is no evidence to the contrary.

Lol Shazam is making waves on the fandom internet, hopefully this transfers to the general audiences next year and WB does the marketing right, like they did with WW, TDK, MOS etc.

I guess Shazam is set in DCU since Cavill and Johnson's manager are the same one, we'll see what happens when it comes out.

Audiences won't care either way as long as the film is good

As has been said there was never anything to the rumor it was outside the DCEU just some clickbaiters trying to make some waves. It was all based on the idea that it was being made by New Line but otherwise no one involved with the production said anything about it being separate.

The set photo of Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman wearing the Superman shirt with the same S as Cavill’s Superman kinda confirms it’s set in the DCEU.
To work it’s gotta be like the Spider-Man Homecoming of the DCEU; about a kid superhero.

I’m glad this film is set in the DCEU. I’m very excited about the film and love the costume.
