I don't care for Spielberg, he is really hit or miss for me..I get the vibe that he thinks people love everything he does.

Well I mean he revolutionized the industry but I don't care for him. Its a matter of personal opinion I still feel A.I. was him basically saying I can do whatever I want and you will praise me for it

Was a bit sentimental but I overall liked it too.

Edit: Ok let's get back to Robin.

Yep.

Spielberg is a filmmaking god. Sure he's had one dud or two, but who hasn't.

I don't feel the same way. I think he only has a few good movies that are memorable. At least to me.

I refuse, A.I. was good and I loved the Teddy but the end with the Aliens just killed it for me. I have to turn it off after that moment ok back to robin

no robin

I heard Speilberg wants to remake Dickman and Throbbin.

Indy trilogy, E.T, Close Encounters, Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, Jurassic Park, Minority Report. Domestically, over $3 Billion from his films. More films on the AFI list than anyone in history. 2 Best Director Oscars. 1 Best Picture Oscar. And named the most influential man of this generation by LIFE magazine.

Quite some achievements.

He changed the industry but I personally don't think he is the best. It all depends. I didn't like close encounters I didnt like temple of doom but ya he is a great producer and invented the word block buster literally.

pfft. he's a has-been.:oldrazz:

That is, but awards don't really mean anything to me.

The only movies by him I really enjoy are Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, and Raiders of the Lost Arc (and the other Indy flicks are enjoyable too.)

I don't know if you want to listen to me go on about what directors and films I prefer though.

Repeat that again...come on, let me hear you say it...no no, the other thing.

alright I think there are better directors out there but Spielberg started the trend

This shouldn't even be in this forum in the first place.

eh we all decided we don't want robin well mostly unless osmeone has something to contribute

alright I think there are better directors out there but Spielberg started the trend

What trend? There were millions of great directors before he came out!

Godard, Hitchcock, Kurosawa, Leone, Peckinpah, Chaplin, Murnau, Welles..

And that's only naming a handful.

No he started that big blockbuster trend with high budgets and whatever. Starting with Jaws. I mean don't get me wrong those guys are legend especially Welles and Hitchcock but Spielberg was the guy who kinda mainstreamed it

I think Spielberg should remake birth of a nation.

and to help bring us back on topic, I think Chris O'Donnell should be in it.

He was Robin for those who forgot.
