Which do you prefer? Do you prefer the going to the stores and physically choosing the items you want to buy, or do you prefer the ease of shopping from your home? Perhaps you like a combination of both?

Which stores do you prefer shopping in-store and which do you prefer online? Or maybe there's certain items you'll buy in one as opposed to the other.
With the holidays fast approaching, where will you do your shopping? Discuss.

In-store for clothes.

On-line for just about everything else.

I'm an online shopper. I hate going to mall to shop. It's exhausting.

As for where I buy, I'm 5'10" so I shop at Victoria's Secret. It's perfect. I go online, I find something I like, I click on the size (which is always the same and fits perfectly) and I just wait for it to come to my door.

For certain things like electronics, small appliances, clothing (obviously), I prefer to shop in-store, to physically see what I'm purchasing. I also prefer to purchase books in store, so I can make sure the book hasn't been damaged in any way. But for things like movies, games, whatever, I'll buy online because I already know what I'm getting.

Amazon is still my go-to choice for online shopping, but I'll also buy off of Future Shop or Best Buy's website fairly often. As sad as it may be, Walmart is the brick and mortar store I'll shop at the most, because they usually are the best price.

groceries and clothes are still in-store for me.. Along with essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, etc.

Everything else is pretty much online now.

Store shop.
Easier to get a refund when needed, if the staff and shop policy are properly cooperative.

I store shop. I actually enjoy the experience of going in and looking at the merchandise. I don't care much for online shopping.

I also buy pet and house supplies from brick and mortar.

I usually don't want to wait for delivery for those.

Food and clothes in store. Everything else is online. The internet is amazing for gift giving online. I find tons of crazy things for people.

food in the store.

But online everything else. Wider selection, it's usually cheaper, and most of the stores around me arent that good. Of course Im not opposed to getting something in store if I need it ASAP

when it comes to Foods, Home type stuff and pet supplies, I'm definitely brick and Mortar. Usually with clothes too, but if I find good deals, i'll definitely order something online.

as for entertainment, collectibles, movies, etc, i tend to buy a lot of that online as I find a lot of great deals and use Ebates which gives me a percentage back at a lot of stores I buy stuff at. Most the shops I shop at online are Barnes and Noble, GoHastings, Zavvi, HotTopic, Amazon etc

On-line shopping is actually not good for brick and mortar stores. It's one reason why I try to shop at an actual location, not a site. ;)

On-Line for electronics and a few other things, usually Amazon since they always refund shipping if I mention there's an issue. Clothing...both, if online usually from the brand over a store site.

In-store usually, particularly food.

I should start shopping more online. But even though online shopping cost less, I still like that I can just go into a store and get something right there and now as opposed to wait for it to show up in a week.

I try to buy everything online. It's usually cheaper, and almost certainly less annoying.

Particularly with video games and clothes. God do I hate shopping for those in stores. Salespeople badgering you, mark up, etc.

sometimes i will ship site-to-store if i ordered it online and they didn't have it in stock at the store so i can browse there when i pick it up too.

some stores, like HotTopic and Best Buy i know for sure, will actually let you order from their online stores to ship to home if they do not have something in stock.

I have to order from GoHastings online because we do not have a Brick and Mortar store of their here

Oh sure, I'll order stuff from online. But I'm just saying, I try to balance it. I like lower prices, but I like the stores to remain open, and for the people in my town to keep their jobs.

yeah i do pick up some stuff on ebay on occassion too.
i used to buy more from best buy, but once they upped their free shipping to $35 or more, i'm much more selective about what i buy there

Since I work nights and 10hrs a day, I mainly shop online. A lot of my clothes come from online since I don't have to worry about really seeing anyone else wearing the same thing I'm wearing, and 99% of my dvds come from online.

that's a very good point. and i guess a tangent the convo could go on. If it's a local based business, i definitely try to support as many as I can by going in.

Whichever has the better price for the item usually though I prefer to go to a physical store and browse.

Depends on price and how badly I want something. If I really really want a game or a movie waiting for it to arrive in the mail is out of the question.

Starting to use that Peapod thing where they deliver fresh food to your house. I don't mind grocery shopping, but if I'm stuck or something I'd rather have somebody else lug that **** to me.

I'd say superstores like Target and Walmart hurt mom and pop shops alot more than online stores which typically sell a wider range of things than can be stored on a few dozen shelves.
