she'll get her powers back anyways, so im not really worried

Not completely.Mothling said:Oh, come. on.
Are you serious??
No. Her motives were justified. And truth be told, the basis of my argument isn't whether her actions were right or wrong. It's about whether or not she still has a place among the X-Men, & I say she doesn't. Being asked to leave the school isn't necessarily a punishment for her. But it's like taking a job & no longer being able or willing to perform that job. Should the company keep you on?micky-fox said:I'm with Mothling on this. Her actions were justified... enough said.
If they do. We don't know whose powers will return & whose won't. There are so many theories about it. And even if they do, & she comes back to the school, I'm still not so sure she should or could ever be an X-Man. Would you wanna trust your life to somebody who didn't want to be there?ljr said:I think she'll leave, cause she wants to,then come back when her powers do.
Maybe she shouldn't have to sever those ties. But then again, maybe she should want to.Mothling said:Wallace; I can see your point on whether or not she falls within the boundries of who belongs there or not, because quite simply, she doesn't belong there anymore.
The point I was trying to make though, is that whether or not she belongs there in the strictest sense doesn't really matter, because there are people there who she has made bonds with, and become almost like family. She shouldn't have to sever all these ties simply because she does not meet the requiements of the purpose of the school.

And I maintain, those bonds weren't strong enough to stop her from saying "I don't want to be this way anymore".
Okay-that's just goofy.Mothling said:I say, if you don't like it, then get off your ass and fight for yourself instead of expecting people like Rogue of all people to do the fighting for you.
Chris Wallace said:It often is. Blacks are still regarded as an underclass in this country, as are most "minorities". Being part of the same struggle has a lot to do with bringing 2 people together.
And before you belittle that remark, I feel compelled to point out to you that I, myself, am black.

i wish they could surprise us. That scene is like wishing the Phoenix rising scene in the beggining of X3. OPS the Phoenix rising scene wasnt in X3 (*****ers)FaT_tONle said:I'm sure this has already been said... but you know if they keep the same characters in X4 one of the first scenes will be like making out with Bobby when Bobby feels the affects once again of kissing her... it's inevitable
so there's still hope
Not to suggest that gays aren't discriminated against, but PLEASE do not try to compare being gay w/being black. I don't think gays came into this country in chains, were bought & sold as property, or have ever routinely been gunned down by cops for sport. It's simply not the same.Mothling said:I myself am part of a minority, I am a gay man, and I don't feel that part of my bond with any of my gay friends is to do with them being gay. I have straight friends who I have bonded closer with.
That remark just doesn't hold much water with me.

I will, however, say this. I think it's total bull$#!^ that you guys can't get married, & I want you to pass this on to your gay brethren. Because you all don't get it. You're losing the fight b/c you're taking the wrong approach. Marriage is a form of expression. The ceremony is a ritual. The ring is a symbol. That's all it is. When you take your vows you are expressing your commitment to that other person. Wearing the ring symbolizes that same commitment. So allow those facts to wash over you for a second, then ponder this: Those who oppose gay marriage do so for no other reason than that it personally offends them. When you seek to outlaw that which offends you, that is called-say it with me-CENSORHIP. And that is the sole reason why it is wrong.
Think about it.
