I don't know about anyone else but I was sure dissappointed that the Hulk didn't have more lines in the ANG Hulk. I'm hoping this time around we can hear more of the Hulk talk, like "Hulk Smash", or "Puny Soldiers Men" and I've been waiting for "HULK IS STRONGEST THERE IS"! A totally mute Hulk just isn't the same.

Its a must that the Hulk talk its part of his character IMO.

I think he will, hopefully they'll get the voice right though because that's just as important as what he's saying...

I agree - if done wrong it has the potential to be absolutely disastrous.

I honestly undecided about whether he should talk. There's no guarantee that just because we're used to Hulk talking in the comics, that it's going to translate well to live-action.

No matter how good the film is or how awesome the special effects are, the voice is the kind of thing that can make or break credability.

Personally, I see it as a bit of a risk.

But I guess I just gottaput my faith in the filmakers and hope for the best.

Hopefully a booming voice. I didn't go for Hulk's sound in ANG Hulk. I think the voice work was done by Lou Feurigno.

When he did the 'Puny human' line He sounded like Worf from Star Trek to me.

btw- I don't know if Lou did that voice but I do know he did the voice for the 90's cartoon, which was kinda ironic as they flat out refused to let him do a voice when he was the Hulk.

Anyways, in answer to the topic, yes the Hulk should talk a hellova lot more than two short lines, one or which wasn't even 'real' and the other somehow bellowed out from underwater...

Imagine ET without "that" voice.

The Hulk must talk, and not just "Hulk Smash", "Puny Human" stuff, he must communicate! He is at, the very least, the co-lead of the film, he must have meaningful dialogue with other characters.
His voice need not stay the same, as his anger increases the tone of his voice could become more savage and beastial.

It makes the Hulk scary when he talks. Otherwise you have a mute dumb monster. When he talks he's scary because his child like chatter makes you fear what he could do next.

Excellent point, the Hulks nonsensical form of communication, vast size and power would scare the crap out of any human.

I believe The Hulk should definately have more to say in the upcoming film, but not too much talk mind you. Have him speak his famous phrases at precisely the right time, and maybe a few more lines here and there for good measure. But thats it. He doesnt really need to be a complete mute, but I would like to see The Hulk speak ONLY when it's needed for the story thats being told.

I believe the hulk should talk but say as little as possible. He's not spider-man, hell spidey doesn't say much in these movies...um, yeah, he's not the human torch. Hulk's speaking needs to be kept to a minimum, more groling/roaring but done effectively.

ps we need to hear, "hulk smash"!

Everything he says must be spoken in the third person, no exceptions.

I think he should have more to say but I wonder on how that should be done.

Hulk Smash would be nice.

I'd say keep the talking at a minimum, but when he does talk, make it count.

Do you mean like with the ANG Hulk? That was definitely not of speak time for the Hulk. I'm not saying he should give a Brave Heart speech but the Hulk should have more to say than "Hulk Smash" and "Puny Human" (which happen to be 2 of my favorite). A scene against the Abomination for example should include the Hulk saying "The Madder Hulk gets the Stronger he gets". And as Spidey pointed out it should be in third person.

hulk should have some basic language.. even if its the "mr. fixit" personality.. the problem with "silent" monsters is the same as frankenstein, up to Jason & michael myers.. you have to pair them with others to get some dialogue going..

I would like to see more real world word growling, rather than the only speaking being in the Banner head confrontations.

Also, I thought he enunciated to well. He had the chopped speach with the incomplete sentacnes and all, but the actual words were to articulate.

I would just love at the end of his fight with Abomination (which he will of course win) for him to shout: "Hulk is the strongest one there is!!!"

I like his childish frustration and annoyance, but yah, I wouldn't want it done over the top, or with some ridiculous voice.

It was unfortunate, he came so close to shouting out some garbled bit of inane babble to the army chopper in the desert, but it ended up nothing more than a humanoid roar.

That scene was primed for him to say "LEAVE HULK ALONE!"

In the original Hulk trailer that was first released he had a real animal roar that worked but Ang decided to change it.

You're absolutely right about his ability to pronouce words correctly, it wasn't child like at all.
