Carey has made her very head-strong and fearless in his book, compared to Milligain's Rogue. And it seems like she's grown considerably smarter, and wiser since her last encounter with (evil) Remy. In addition to her leadership of a new team, she also seems to have a problem with authoritive figures, such as putting up with Cyclops's rules, other team mates getting out of control, and less tolerant towards temporary outcast team members.
There was also a time when Rogue said she'd wait for Remy to return to her. However, this seems to be contradictory to her new personality, and the direction in which she is going. But considering he tried to kill her that last time they saw each other, as well as the tumultuous past they've shared over the years, what valid reason does she have to go back to him... unconditional and everlasting love? ...I find that hard to believe.
With that said, does it make sense for them to get back together, or to move on? Yes, they've been together for a long time, but as with most relationships, people grow up and move on. Should this long time relationship be any different?
