Should they make another Punisher movie?

Hey guys, we've seen different versions of Frank in the comics but in the movies they always seem to mainly be marvel knight interpretations of Frank. Of course they mix other aspects (Year One in terms of story/Max in terms of violence) but what about a full on main comic interpretation? For example, get rid of the marvel knights Frank with the silliness and keep the "Max" aspect for the real world Frank. An aged man, has to deal with the consequences of every injury, can't just shake it off, has to struggle to get through it, very brutal.

Or the early Castle by Steven Grant. Not as cold as the Max Frank, but still cold (Leaving the woman to dangle off the bridge in Circle of blood), more spy like in terms of surveillance, bugging places, scoping out areas, disguises (good ones, not the cheesy mustache stuff), the occasional shake down of some low life, takes a lot of damage, more vulnerable, can't really shake it off, needs to lay low for awhile or be placed in situations where he doesn't have time to recuperate, more energetic etc. In other words;

Daniel Craig's Bond with Willis' John McClane: Grant's Punisher

or

More along the lines what Ennis envisions in his Max run (Eastwood/Rutger Hauer with years of military & street experiences).

Or they could kinda mix the two together, just random rumblings of a punisher fan, lol. Are there versions of Frank you would prefer, and if so would you like one particular version or a mix and match from other versions?

I'm happy and astounded to hear that the Punisher may actually get another shot under Marvel! I thought for sure that last atrocity was the nail in the coffin.

to be honest i want the MAX Punisher. It is the best representation of the Punisher i can imagine. He is very brutal, very intimidating(stands at 6'1, 220 lbs of muscle according to one comic), very tactical and very smart.

That's pretty much how I felt as well. Or at least we wouldn't see Punisher for the next 10-20 years. But now he's back at Marvel...which is so awesome. t:

Hopefully he'll get his foot in the door with a cameo in something (Avengers, animated film/short), then possibly get his own movie.

i think Marvel will be stoked to have The Punisher since he can be their flagship of R rated Marvel flicks.

I'm still doubtful about the Punisher being in a film with Iron Man, Captain America and the rest of the M.U. in such an upfront capacity. I'd prefer he be as far away as possible from those guys. What they could do is in all films, or a few, have some brief shots of newspaper headlines about The Punisher killing more mob members, and in a Punisher film, have headline like "AVENGERS SAVE DAY FROM SKRULL THREAT!". That way it ties both films together without being so blatant about it.

And with how the M.U. films are taking from the Ultimate stuff, the last thing I want is Fury recruiting Castle as the Black OPs Captain America. Mark Millar and that are just part of one large facepalm.

That I agree with, cap punisher to me is a no-no in any universe lol!

@ Punisher_Max: I agree with the Max Punisher, I would love to see him doing something like he did in "Man of Stone" where he hid a razor blade in his wound to cut free. That was pure badass!

Yes, he should be separate from the Marvel U. Treat it like the old b&w stories from the 70's, straight crime fiction. His movies/TV show or whatever might come of this just does not mix well I think.

I doubt Tony would call him. How would he find his number? Frank is an underground guy, he hides low, he's secretive. Plus, Tony stark isn't really in the business of killing anymore so I'm sure he'd want to be as far away from Frank as possible. That's true, but in that case Fury should be the one to deal with/contact Frank. Fury knows deep down there's still certain people in the world that need more than just a shield against the head, lol. Or they could actually try to have Cap reach out him, soldier to soldier. That would be an interesting concept.

Yeah, I just can't wait for it, lol! It makes me so proud to see they actually care for Frank enough to buy him back, and the try to work him into one of their biggest movies! Now if only they did that for FF, X-Men, Ghost Rider, Daredevil, Elektra... I'm kinda iffy on Sony with Spidey (after all it was just one bad film. Two out of three ain't bad, but the reboot may change that. Hopefully for the better).

They were talking about rebooting Daredevil for awhile, but I haven't heard anything about it in months. It's hard to believe FOX would let go of one of their comic book properties, though. I can see why Lionsgate would let The Punisher go, as it hasn't made them a whole lot of money. (Or at least I don't think so.)

That's true, Frank being suped up would cool, but not like Frankencastle. But then you have those that'll go no it takes away from him being the punisher because he doesn't use stuff like serums or formulas. I can see their point, but they can just have it where whenever Frank gets banged up Fury heals him with shield tech and supplies him with good hardware, so long as he plays ball when Fury asks him to.

I can see that, but Punisher was pretty profitable (the 04 version) so that explains why they held on for war zone. As for Fox, another great point, but isn't like a deadline for the rights that state they have to have something ready to go before so and so? And if so how long? They had daredevil since like 03.
