this is true, im not agaisnt him takin on bigger badder threats, just explainging why he hasnt done so yet
and iirc, PWZ, was a marvel studios flick with paramount? as the distributor, like with TIH

That I agree on, it's need to be explained why. Paramount was involved with PWZ? Wow, I knew Marvel had a hand in it, but I thought mostly it was just Marvel & LG.

No, PWZ was a Lionsgate production, with Marvel giving their two cents on certain things. Had it been with Paramount, it most definitely would have been a better film. Columbia Pictures did however distribute the Punisher movies overseas.

ok, see i didnt remember the other studio that had a hand in it. but yeah, marvel needs to get its properties back, THEN make the movies so its all one universe

the only problem i see with The Punisher being in the Marvel verse is that hes really brutal/violent so i doubt he'd make a cameo but his name or something might be thrown around, hell maybe Fury could mention him.

Without a doubt yes ... If they could find a median between the first movie (which was a little corny) and the second (which was just a little too close to the graphic ... not in a bloody way, in that it was like the modern graphics jumped off the page and came to life, no human factor) then they would have a perfect Marvel movie.

Oh, ok. Damn, I wish Paramount would've been involved, that would be awesome. Doesn't marvel have something in there contract where they could have full control to oversee and say what needs to be done or undone? Because alot of this reboot stuff could be avoided if they had/have that ability.

It could work, pg-13 films have expanded alot more so people can get away with stuff (Language, violence, etc) just look at Casino Royale, Dark Knight, Die Hard 4, and not all of it was done in a cut away style. Sure McClane couldn't utter the famous line (he could've, it's not like there was a lot of swearing in the first place), but a majority of that film had some decent violence. Castle can be dark and brutal in a pg-13 type story though. Before MK/Max, alot of the older stories were basically pg-13 (Circle of Blood, Return to Big Nothing, even the first arc of Warzone).

It could work, but the same could be said for another R-rated venture. It just depends on who does it, and if they do it right.

I think that for anything he does for a stand alone movie should be Rated R...it fits him.

If he cameos in anything else you could still use him as he is but tone it down a bit. Unless he cameos in a Blade movie where he can just be himself.

I think they should make another Punisher movie. I enjoyed '04 Punisher and War Zone. I've been reading some of the older storylines and found some of them to be really good. There was some stuff from Punisher Year One and Welcome Back Frank that was incorporated into '04 Punisher.

I agree 100%.

Marvel has a level of control to veto ideas. Hensleigh actually even asked Marvel if he could change the origin in the 2004 film before putting it on paper, so some faults with the films can laid on their feet too.

i liked the idea of killing EVERYONE in Franks family, leaving him no oen to rest on or greive with.

I'm ok with them changing the origin as long as its something worthwhile. Like for instance Christopher Nolan screwed up how Two-Face was created by doing his own original take on it an he did a great job an no one complains because it was done so well there's nothing to argue about. Only people who will complain are the fanboys who need everything to be perfect

and fan boys who need eveyrhting perfect annoy me, no offense, but this is an ADAPTION not the original source material

I think every time I see The Punisher (2004) I like it more an more. I feel its really underrated.

i have a freeind who hates frank in the comics, but he loves the 04 movie

i guess i felt a bit robbed when i first saw it because i had just gotten into the punisher character so i thought i was gonna go in and watch a balls to the wall brutal action flick and i didnt get it but now i appreciate it soo much more.

WTF! No wonder Frank can't catch a break, Marvel won't even give him one.

Well, it's the too many cooks in the kitchen sort of thing. Tom Jane gave that interview a little while back with MTV where he basically said the studios just see comic book and feel the need for there to be goofy **** in a Punisher films. I think if Marvel had the sole rights to the character, they would probably make a really good film.

I believe that too. Marvel needs the rights back. Hopefully when Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America makes enough box office magic they can buy their rights back. Fox, Lions Gate, nor Sony needs to butcher another property.

I dont read Punisher comics but hes a really cool character I would love for another film.

-I think it should be a reboot (i know "AH!!! Reboot OMGzz")
-Normally I dont think its necessary for an origin story for all reboots, but I think that they need to make an origin and set it in NYC.
-Give it a small budget like the first one (Punisher doesnt need loads of money for a good film)
- I think it was Jane who said "More Death Wish, Less Spiderman"
- Better marketing. With 04 I remember it basically like it was only marketed to those who read the comics and headbangers. And I barely saw WZ marketed beyond the net.
-And I would love for the ending to be Frank finally getting the people who killed his family and kind of sitting with a "Now What" expression on his face until he reads about some other sick mob boss in the paper, then immediately goes to "work"

Who would you guys have as Castle if Stevenson doesnt return
