Siege Ends The Avengers

Scott's inability to control his optic blasts is not the same as Rogue's inability or now the ability to control her powers better. Rogue's problem was because she never had the right amount of training, Scott's problem is because a certain part of his brain that would've controlled his optic blasts was damaged when he and his brother jumped out of their parents plane. Yea, I'm sure some telepath or even a real surgeon could try and fix Scotts problem, but Scotts problem is not as bad as Rogue's was. All Cyke has to do is wear Ruby quartz glasses. Cyke wouldn't look as cool or have that extra pizzaz without his visor. The Visor also helps Scott regulate the output of his blasts and if he really wants to let lose, he takes off the visor.

The Visor should forever remain with Cyclops, but Scott as a character should evolve beyond requiring to wear it or his glasses 24/7.

Character progression in comics from the big 2 is temporary at best. Spider-Man taught me that.

I was half asleep when I read that and thought it said"The Vision should forever remain with Cyclops..." Now, THAT's, some character development going on...

I never understood the logic behind how a pair of glasses stops Scott's eyes from blasting beams. I know it requires a lot of suspension of disbelief but still, it really doesnt make any sense to me.

He'd look like Gambit. That's why people were convinced during the 90's that he was the lost third Summers brother.

So fix Gambit's eyes. I always thought it was stupid that he had red and black eyes in the first place.

Especially since Scott's power isn't a "laser", it's freakin' concussive force so he should just blast the glasses off of his face. Rogue did something cool with Scott and Emma's power a while back that shouldn't have worked. She turned into a diamond and shot herself to refract the "light" and beat a room full of bad guys.

He should get ruby-quartz contacts. That'd look cool.

How would he get 'em in though? You gotta open your eyes to put 'em on.

Has anything been announced as far as Slott, post Seige? I'd love to see him stick with some kinda Avengers title. A major one too, not just Avengers Academy starring more C and D-listers, or whatever it'll be called.

As far as my team:
Cap
Iron Man
Thor
Hawkeye
Pym
Ms Marvel (Slott) // Spider Woman (Bendis)
She Hulk
Spider-Man
Beast (Slott) // Luke Cage (Bendis)
and of course....THE WOLVERINE!!!! (I thought is was great when he was hanging out in Avengers Tower, laying on the couch, watching TV and drinking beer. )

Actually if they could even out Scott's personality a bit, and have him not so reactive/bloodthirsty, then I would love to see him lead an Avengers team.

It's been shown throughout the years that he is on Caps level when it comes to leadership. Heck during the Onslaught battle, it was due to the dual leadership of Cyclops and Captain America that they won.

The only X-Men I want to see on the Avengers are Storm, Rogue, Jean Grey (I think when she comes back she needs to leave the X-Men for good.), Wolverine, and Beast.

Does this spell the end of Team Stabby? I can't see how they fit in with the whole Heroic Age vibe.

I assume it'll be a large over all roster hopefully they use the infinite avengers mansion unless that ends up getting destroyed by Ultron in the MA arc, if it doesn't they're wasting a good idea.

I hope that isn't the final roster.:facepalm::argh:

Bucky/Cap needs to give the shield back to Steve, Thing needs to go back to the Baxter Building, and that gorilla guy needs to go back to the zoo.

I hope they bring in Ms Marvel.

Well at least Clint is back to being Hawkeye again.

They've been trying to push the Agents of Atlas on us lately, I don't give a crap about them.

I'm fairly confident that's not the Avengers roster. It seems more like a cross-section of various characters from the Marvel universe. Of course, I certainly wouldn't mind if it were the roster. That's a great set of characters, and the fact that they'd make an unlikely team could prove interesting.

I'd venture to say Jimmy Cheung will be the new Avengers artist.
No, he's doing Avengers: Children's Crusade with Alan Heinberg.

Doubt that's the lineup; most of those people I could see being Avengers (because they have been Avengers in the past), but the Thing and Gorilla-Man are extremely unlikely, and I would be stunned if Bendis drops Luke Cage and Spider-Woman from the team.

The X-Men will probably get a pass from The Heroic Age. They've always been one of the darker franchises within Marvel. I doubt Daredevil's gonna be swinging around shouting about how much he loves his life anytime soon, either. Maybe their stories will get a bit brighter relative to what they've been, but overall the dark franchises will probably stay dark because that's just their accepted, successful tone.

For, like, one or two arcs maybe. They'd better have a nice, quick fill-in artist ready to back him up.

That's because you are made of suckage. :argh:

I like the team, but there are too many dudes on it. I'd at least replace the Thing with She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, or Spider-Woman. I like the Gorilla, though why would they need 2 animal people?
