Siege

Yeah, but my way they'd stay free and clear of the bald one.

I doubt we'll see the original numbering. If Cap, Thor & IM unite, they'll be on Mighty Avengers... Unless Bendis gets his hands on them. :(

I can't imagine him letting the biggest event since Civil War slipping through his fingers.

I think we all just have to make our peace with the fact that Bendis will be writing the big three. If we get a united Avengers team, Bendis will be writing it. I'd much rather see us stick with a couple of teams, organized as either a domestic and international team or the old west and east coast teams again.

I'll never get over it! I'm like a One More Day fan! Or even a Hulk fan when you put him in a vs thread with a DBZ character! :cmad:

I really hope Clint becomes Hawkeye again instead of this murdering ninja crap.

I don't get why dumba** Bendis made Clint want to kill Norman, when 1.) Clint was a supporter of Cap's no kill policy & 2.) Wolverine, probably the biggest murderer in the MU, is on the team doing jacks*** except being on the cover.

Probably because Bendis smokes a lot of pot.

The Wolverine thing I'll give him a pass in since Logan is stuck on Utopia. He's actually paying attention to what goes on in the rest of the Marvel U.

I think he was in there during the, "heros don't kill" discussion, but didn't say anything. Then walked off when everybody was said and done.

Has Wolverine actually not been in New Avengers lately?

He's not in the current arc and he's the member that pops up the least due to his duties to the X-Men across the country in San Fransisco while the rest of the New Avengers are New York City based heroes.

And Dark Reign: The List - Avengers which takes place after the current arc, they explain that Wolverine is stuck on Utopia.

Newsarama has an interview with Bendis about the upcoming Siege storyline.

Newsarama: What can you tell us about Siege, Brian?

Brian Michael Bendis: Well, it's two things at once. For one, it's the shocking finale of the Dark Reign that poured all over the Marvel universe this year. At the same time, it's the opening of a very very large brand new chapter, particularly for the Avengers franchise – but also for things going forward in the Marvel U next year.

It's a tight four-issue miniseries, not eight or ten; four issues that sets up and delivers what I think will be a huge payoff for people picking it up. And for people waiting for an event to reunite the classic Avengers all on the same side, this is it. That hasn't happened since I've been on the book – and even further back, to a decade I think.

- Siege is about Norman Osborn trying to conquer Asgard.

- Sales are not a factor in the upcoming change in status-quo from Siege, it's something Bendis and Marvel want to do.

- Along with Taskmaster, another person will join the Cabal. After Norman is betrayed by Emma Frost and Namor, along with Morgan Le Fay telling him that Dr. Doom will betray him as well, he fills the Cabal with Osborn loyalists (like Taskmaster). This doesn't sit well with the Hood, Dr. Doom, and Loki.

- There will be a smaller number of tie-in titles with the Avengers titles, Secret Warriors, and a few others.

What hasn't happened? Reunited the Avengers from a team break due to a SHRA and subsequent superhuman ownership by Norman Osborne? I'm pretty sure that hasn't happened in the last 13 billion years.

Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man haven't been on the Avengers together for quite a while.

Well Disassembled was back in 04. Thor last appeared alongside of Cap and Iron Man in 03 in the Avengers and they were at each others throats even back then because Thor moved Asgard over NYC.

Now that I think about it more I don't think that Thor served officially as a member since Kurt Busiek finished his run after the Kang Dynasty storyline. Wow that was a long friggin time ago....

The next event/status quo/whatever-you-want-to-call-it after Dark Reign will be called "The Heroic Age," which is supposed to be aimed at readers who are tired of the bad guys constantly winning in the Marvel universe.
