Horror Silent Hill

Ive never gotten how people can say oh man the movie was awesome but the ending messed it up for me, the movie is now garbage because of the last 5 minutes.

It wasn't the last 5 minutes for me. It was more the last 20 minutes which ruined it for me. And yes, if an ending is that bad it can ruin the whole film for me.

I wish I could do that

Yeah, that was where the movie lost me. It was just the most ******ed thing I ever seen. Then with the whole Phantom of the Opera music playing while she rose up...*sighs*

The only problem with that scene for me was Alessa's make-up. It just didn't look all that real. Kind of brought me out of it.:( Oh, and I was expecting Pyramid Head to come out of that hole, not Alessa, hence further dissapointment.

But, everything else was awesome. It seemed like right out of a religious painting of Hell coming up from the Earth to destroy the damned.

The irony of this statement.

I thought she looked pretty ****ing disturbing personally. Still creeps me out a bit.

....anyone else thing that tall dude was Adrien Brody?

Calm down dude. It's not like he's in this thread yelling and everyone and saying we're stupid for digging the flick. And that is something that doesn't happen often. You usually get people who seem like they stand outside a theater telling people not to go in. Least he has the "I don't dig the flick but you do and that's cool" attitude.

Better than the usual **** that will come in here.

Thank you.

I've said (about 1,000 times) that I loved the movie from a visual standpoint. The costumes, makeup effects, VFX, cinematography, and sets were amazing for me. But as we know, a film is made or broken by it's script, and IMO (which I can't reiterate enough), the script was horrid. And I can distinctly remember saying, LastSunrise, that I recommended this film to someone for the visuals.

Oh, and LastSunrise, saying that my "credibility is a bit shot" by liking Good Night, and Good Luck is a completely asinine statement.

Opinions. Gotta love em'.

That scene was actually pretty cool for me.

That wasn't really Phantom of the Opera playing, was it? I love the Phantom, but I haven't seen the 1925 version cause everywhere around me sucks.

If he doesn't dig the film, then he doesn't need to be in the thread. Why stay in the thread of a movie you hate? Makes no sense to me, but whatever.

Well, I am not a big fan of the horror/scary movie genre. The film had a lot going for it. The Visuals were top notch, costume and make up design were great, direction was great. It's just that ending was ******ed for me. I can see how it would appeal to those who like this genre but for me it ruined an otherwise fantastic film.

Well, it's kind of like this: I want to see what other people thought about it. What they liked, what they didn't like and how they saw things, all whether or not they liked it or not. That's all.

I was exagerating, it was just overly dramatic music for that scene. It kind of turned into a comedy from that point for me as I was laughing.

Definition of a bad ending:

The Village :down :down

I liked the film but it didn't creep me out at all. I really was hoping for more of what the game offered. Confusion, creepy sounds from somewhere in the fog/darkness. I really wanted to see more of Pyramid Head too....but his one big scene was pretty amazing. Hearing the Great Knife dragging behind him from the other side of the door was great.

Because this is a forum to talk about things intelligently. It's not like he's hurting the thread. If you went by that rule than the hype wouldn't exist and no one could talk about anything beyond "this rocks" "yeah it does rock"

Now I would agree if everytime we said something about us liking it he would come back and ***** and moan and say how ****ty the movie was. But...he hasn't even once. It's just a movie.

Def didn't see that coming.

Neither did I.

But when I saw it, I was like, "What the f***?!?!?!?! THAT'S what this was all about?!?!" :D

I'm sorry. I have to take that as a joke.

Anyways, The Village is a great movie because it commentates on our society and what happens and how far we would go to keep a peaceful world. the twist meant nothing to me, it just confirmed why they moved to Covington Woods.

I found no problem with The Village, other than that it dragged for a bit at times. I found it to be really a fine work by Night. Very different from his other stuff.
