all i know is when in smallville when Jor-el told clark he can't reverse time and, "we are not gods". Then Jor-el gave him that "time travelling" crystal seconds later i turned off the tv to laugh. After the time travel bit i lost some respect for the sense of this show. If Kryptonians have time travel crystals why could they not see their planet demise? why did they even die at all, with all that magic-like technology they seem to have and all.

Yea exactly. They had these technologies in the precrisis, but it was retconned from continuity for that reason alone in the postcrisis. I dont know what SV was thinking with that one but it was a pretty lame plot device.

Is Singer making this into a trilogy,or is he just making two superman movies and that's all the superman movies we will get?

So long as the death of Jonathan is NOT the catalyst of why he becomes Superman, i'm all good.

.....Ya I'm sure Clark talking to Jonathan's ghost will fix the situation.

No trilogy. Just several movies one after the next.

Superman has left Earth many times in the comics. He's gone back to Krypton. He's visited other worlds. You just never see the impact his absence has on Earth. We just assume that he's back in a day or so. But what if he actually had to follow the laws of physics and didn't have something like a boom tube or a wormhole? It would take him years, wouldn't it? Time simply exists in comics when it is convenient for the story. It just so happens that for this story, it is.

Whether your opinion is in the minority or the majority should have no effect on how prepared you are for a debate.

See and again I can care less since I am not debating anything but just stating my opinion and I always admit when wrong see previous posts where I admit not knowing he had left for any period of time.
See and I do not care what your opinion is Mr DOSV since you seem to just want to attack my posts because I do not have faith in Singer's visions.

It's strange since I didn't attack your posts. I only clarified why people were armed with facts while you were not and why it was unwise. I find it amusing that you try to play the victim and making assumptions as to why I posted instead of actually trying to reason. There are a multitude of people who have posted here intelligently and for discussion who have had worse things to say about Singer's work. They come out fine since they know how to discuss intelligently.

And since I am now aware that you are here mainly to espouse your uninformed opinion and not actually to have a discussion, I know to avoid reading anything you post.

SV sometimes reminds of Star Trek:Enterprise. Instead of following the history to it's conclusion (Enterprise to Original Series, SV to Superman), the writers just make it up as they go along. Lots of aspects of Star Trek history and mythos was ignored, bringing certain alien species too early as well as technology, just to try and get ratings (which it didn't) and by the 4th and last season, a new show runner was brought in to link the series to the original, which should have happened before. SV is doing the same. Both series also used sex and out of character ideas (Lois the lapdancer?, Vulcan 1st officer is a drug addict?). I wonder if the SV heads will try to rectify everything (Lex becomes evil, Lois leaves and becomes a reporter, Pete returns, Lionel dies) that has happened to reach a stage Clark becomes Supes.
The final season will be interesting.

Wich is a stupid idea...

I think i'm with you on that one...having JK appear so soon after his death IMHO kinda defeats the purpose of killing him off in the first place.

What's the point if he's back a month later?

They should've held off an appearance at the earliest til' the season finale and at the latest the series finale.

Having him come back already is pretty lame. :(

I kind of agree, but I like SV alot more than I liked Star Trek: Enterprise, my dad was a big Star Trek fan since the Next Generation, and I grew up watching all the other Star Trek shows and thought I would get into Enterprise as well, I mean big plus for scott bakula, who I used to watch regularly in Quantum Leap, but when I started watching it, I just never could get into the show, I don't think I even made it through the first season before I quit watching, it just was boring to me, SV, has not been is probably why I have been supporting of it, as far off from the source material as it may be it entertains me and keeps me interested, and I am looking forward to SR but back when it was first announced and the plot synopsis was first released, I was more than a little worried. But I am just trying to keep an open mind, to see what Singer has done with the character.

Put it this way man... Superman Returns hasnt even come out yet and WB is already giving the greenlight for a sequel. I think we may see a span of several movies in the future (same with the Batman Begins franchaise).

Whether Singer will continue to direct is uncertain. Personally I dont care if he stays or leaves, theres so many other awesome directors out there too for the different types of stories these movies will tell.

Personally, its not the fact that hes coming back that annoys me, its how hes coming back; the ghost and the kryptonite drug flatlining. He also reveals a major unknown plotpoint to Clark (that Lionel knows his secret and hes after Martha) which makes Clark meeting Jon's ghost not a illusion or dream either (considering the ghost reveals new information)...

Its all very strange...

whoa 17 pages, didnt know this thread will go this long,

SV is cool (7)

crisis superman i was going to type the same thing. I don't mind John comeing back, but his ghost and more kryptonite thing. It seems like really bad writing. I always wondered something, isn't smallvile suppose to be a boring place? Isn't that why Clark wanted to leave after he turned 18 ,because the town was holding him back?

With all the trips to metropolis they seemingly make, it takes away from the first time adult clark steps out of the cab to come to metropolis [cause he goes their every week in this show].

Agreed. Clark going to school locally sucks too, he should be travelling the world....instead he'll be stuck in Smallville for another 2 years most likely with Lana and Martha -_-

Lois and Lex's continued presense in Smallville is starting to push it a bit for me too. Im beginning to wonder if Clark will still live in Smallville when hes Superman on the show.. (considering theyve made Smallville driving distance from Metropolis in the same state of Kansas....big mistake).

How the show works is, that I think they have a way to resolve all the things that lead to Clark becoming Superman, Lana finding, Lex turning "evil", going to Metropolis in the final season, but because they dont know how long the show goes on for ( I think really the network has that idea and they'll keep running it if the WB audience watches it) they therefore need to fill it in as they go along. Eventually things will resolve themselves but I dont think they had a time-determined plan just key story points, if that makes sense.

Still they've done well under these conditions to have a show that's watchable so big up the 'ville I guess

Honestly I think the show is written in a way that it doesnt technically have to make sense in the future (when Clark is Superman) since the show probably wont explore that future in detail.

Translation: it's written badly.
