Smallville Fights

My two favorite fights were with the insect boy in the first season. My only gripe about that was the inclusion of kryptonite in the scene. It would've been better IMO, without having to weaken Clark..

That was a really good fight. I haven't seen that ep in a while, but I think the actor playing Bug Boy did a really good job too. I think the addition of Kryptonite totally made the fight though. Clark hiding behind that lead barrier was great. That was only the 2nd episode of the entire series, so in that context it was way cool to see Clark use lead as a shield from the green-K.

That’s another thing about the 1st series. Kryptonite was over used but thank the GODS they got over that plot device. I do like Clarks over load power episode where he flips the tractor well into the sky. Not a fight just cool use of his powers...
well it is smallville so there will be alot of kryptonite about they place, so really i t couldnt have been over used, there would have been Kryptonite scatterd everywhere

There would of been lots of Kryptonite around, that I understand but its just a little convenient when it appears.

true, but it wouldnt be a programme then, it would just be boring, i saw solitude in england today it was good but the fight shouldnt have been so throwy, throwy, when they fought it was cool, i couldnt see why clark couldnt blast fine when he was on top of him, also why didnt fine wait till Zod was out of the phantom zone and take down Clark together, clark wouldnt have known anything and he'd have been no math for Zod

anyone remember when that reporter finds out about clarks secret and him and Johnathan are trapped in the place where the ship is and in the beggining of season 2 i think not sure, Pa kent jumps him i thought that was a kool fight

If Zod shows up and completely whoops the kid, i will have a new respect for this show.

The fights though have always left a bad taste in my mouth. Mainly because they seem to adjust Clark's ablilities to fit his opponent. I mean he beats fricking Braniac with two moves (Who possessed all the same powers as Clark, and then some) but he drew with the Witch Lana, and in fact got his behind kicked most of the time.

I just love the idea though that Clark would just stand in front of his opponents and get tagged, when he has superspeed. Use it boy.

I thought the fight b/w Lex and Clark in Mortal and Onyx were great. I've always loved seeing Lex fighting with Clark. And I hope Zod kicks Clark's ass for sure, make him realize that he isn't the strongest one and he'll need to team up with someone.

And thanks for the article, KalKai. Yep, the "kneeling" word is definitely a clue.

We need ZOd to destroy Clark - Show him that he actually needs to focus & develop his powers - Show him there are real threats to the world if he doesn't protect it

Well against Magic, Clark isn't supposed to win. So i thought they represented that fight quite accurately.

Would Aquaman hold his own if they stayed underwater?

Yes. PM "The Question" if you want an EXTREMELY detailed answer. he really knows his stuff.

Any details on that would be nice. (From anyone)

lol, I know what you mean, and I to would love to see Zod beat Clark up good . I think it would be good for when Clark makes a comeback in the second round to KO Zod badly .

Clark can be hurt by magic yes, but it needs to be used in a way that negates his speed. Read Kingdome Come. Marvel only keeps him down because he keeps it up. Once he gets an opening Clark is able to speed off and the fight is over.

So unless Lana the witch is suppose to be Zatanna, Marvel, or Spectre like levels, i don't get it.

so Clark/Supes never actually wins in a magical fight against Marvel?

No he wins or at least stops him. The point is that all he needs to do is stop getting hit by Barry's lighting bolt. Once he does, it is over. When i say speeds off, i mean he went and grabbed Marvel.

That was great. Also got to love Chole outsmarting Lana "The Dragon" Lang.

I really want to see hime PUNCH someone for christs sake!!!

I would love for Clark to exchange actual punches with an enemy.

If Clark has any skill in fighting he can punch with style but he's all raw power. No grace to Clarks fights.

See, in the subject of kryptonite, I wish that they had went more towards the way the comics went. In the books, there was only one original piece of authentic kryptonite known to exist on earth. That's because most of Superman's enemies don't need kryptonite to be a threat to him, so the authors never felt the need to have more of the rock around.

The makers of Smallville have admitted to including the vast quantities of green k because they wanted Clark to have challenges, but that is the lazy way out and really shows off their lack of imagination. If they wanted challenges, maybe they should have taken a cue from the comics and just gone with good ol' fashioned chemical spills, genetic experiments, guy caught in a mysterious explosion, etc, without the involvement of kryptonite anywhere in their origin. Those methods of creating villains who can actually stand up to Superman without needing kryptonite have worked for decades in the comics. Why couldn't they work for Smallville? Because the show's writers are too lazy to come up with legitimate physical threats, that's why.

Kryptonite radiation causes cancer, not superpowers.

That's true about Kryptonite causing cancer. I think Lex once had a K ring and he got cancer from it. It is lazy writing that they have only just got over in the last season.
