With this cast, Im hoping that the lack of success of Watchmen has forced Snyder to turn to Vivid to finance this movie...

Touche

I'm half expecting that budget to drop after Watchey's performance. Maybe get rid of a character and allow that actress to be the lead.

Agreed, look what Snyder did with $60 million. I can see it having a $70 million budget now.

kat dennings?

you go from bug eyed amanda to gap tooth dennings?

must be some emo-goth thing or something..i don't find either of them mildly attractive..but maybe thats because i'm over 20..or i like cute girls...thats just me i guess

This movie sounds interesting. Sad that Seyfried won't be in it anymore.:csad:

300 director Zack Snyder has set up the first project at his new company, Cruel and Unusual Films - an action fantasy titled Sucker Punch.

Snyder, who is eyeing the project as a directing vehicle, will produce with partner and wife Deborah Snyder. Snyder will co-write the script with Steve Shibuya, adapting it from his own original short story.

Set in the 1950's, "Punch" follows a girl who is confined to a mental institution by her evil stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and in that world, she begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man.

"A while ago I had written a script for myself and there was a sequence in it that made me think, 'How can I make a film that can have action sequences in it that aren't limited by the physical realities that normal people are limited by, but still have the story make sense so it's not, and I don't mean to be mean, like a bull***** thing like "Ultraviolet" or something like that?' " Snyder said. "And also, I was really inspired by the worlds of movies like 'Moulin Rouge,' which is modern but at the same time timeless."

Snyder described the world as "an 'Alice in Wonderland' with machine guns," blending such elements as dragons, B-52 bombers and brothels. Music will play a key role.

"In the end, it's about this girl's survival and what she needs to do to be able to cope," Deborah Snyder said.

Snyder is in pre-production on Watchmen, the adaptation of the Alan Moore-Dave Gibbons graphic novel. Watchmen is eyeing a late summer start.

This reminds me alot of "I'm a cyborg, but that's ok".

Alice in Wonderland with machine guns, hmm, I don't know about that.

I hate it when people come up with ways to describe original concepts some times...

"It's Girl Interrupted, mixed with Alice In Wonderland, Die Hard, and the Matrix!"

Lol. Me too.

I read a Robert Altman interview where he said thats how you pitch movies in Hollywood.

But that sounds kick ass!!!:woot:

And if I was Michael Bay, I would add... "And after the slow mo 360 shot, you see this huge F****ing fireball rise over Mary Poppins head!"

Her strange face excites and disturbs me. :wow:

Amazing Warners is doing this with an even less recognizable lead actress still putting up this kind of money.

Emily Browning is so damn cute. She's like a younger Scarlett Johansson.

Hudgens says about her role in the film:

I'm playing a character named Blondie and it's set in a brothel in the 1950s, so there's not a whole lot of clothes. It'll be gun training, stunts, fighting and all that craziness. I can't wait. I'm so excited. I've wanted to do an action film for a while. I think this is my time to really step it up and get to grow up. It will be somewhat different with the content and a few more foul words but that's the biggest difference.

Part of me still doesn't think this will be made. And this will probably end up being as "sexy" as Alba in Sin City, ie not at all.

If she's playing a prostitue she better be topless.

Lame ass Alba, I swear Rodriguez and Miller shouldn't have budged and told her to F off since she wouldn't do it topless like the comics. You...are...playing...a...stripper.

That's my hang up with her as well. Your cast as a stripper, you go nude, dammit.

A brothel doesn't have strippers, it has prostitutes/hookers. They get naked only when they're with a client, so unless there's a sex scene, I wouldn't expect anyone getting naked.

was she naked in the comic?
