I'm not even offended by the multiculturalism. I'm offended by how cheesy and elementary it is. It's the kind of thing that 3rd graders have plays about after their teachers tell them about Thanksgiving and they paint turkeys using their hands.

How about they show a single mother working two jobs trying to put food on the table? Or some high school kids in Washington D.C. with textbooks outdated by 40 years?

But no, it has to be Coca-Cola bringing the whole world together. Lmao.

Yeah, it's offensive to me not because it's multicultural, but because it's the day time TV movie version of multiculturalism presented by people who we all know doesn't give even the slightest **** about anything other than making money.

The heavy patriotism that was on display early on doesn't bother me...it's the fact that the corporate stench in this case is so ridiculously noticeable. Then again, I also think it's ironic they're using Charlie Brown - a character seen every Christmas as being aghast at all the crass commercialism - as a spokesperson.

Can someone explain to me how the Coca Cola commercial somehow conveyed the idea that no one does or should learn English when they come from another country ? I'm pretty sure it was a commercial about heritage using "Coke" as a metaphor for shared interests/language (IE, EVERYONE loves Coke!), not a public message that no one should learn to speak English when they come to America. Based on some of the posts I've seen on Facebook tonight, a lot of those people speak and write better and more proper English than many Americans anyway.
