The Amazing Spider-Man So the budget for the reboot is 80 million dollars?

I'm not worried about the budget. They'll make the film for $80 Million and they'll get a definite profit out of it. You know this will at least make $200 Million. That's what these superhero films usually pull in. I think Sony found a way to do this and save some money. They wouldn't lowball the budget if they thought it was going to effect the quality of the film.

That is the problem though and we all should be worried about it. They know they have $200 million no matter what so they are cutting corners to try and maximize profit. They don't care about quality, they care about profit. They allowed SM3 to be butchered because they knew it would make tons of money. They crammed in Venom as a selling point for profitability in the movie and toys/sales.

My only thought is if they're going for a District 9 level budget than they probably won't film in New York which is a shame I think. New York is such a massive part of Spidey-lore, it's almost like a character in the films. Thats one of the things Raimi's films did really well, it perfectly characterised New York.

Didn't they film the movies in Culver City though??

Meh, as long as they have a few panning shots of New York we should be good.

Maybe take the camera through the city's skyscrapers then drop in a web-swinging Spidey with CG.
