So, uh... Wolverine vs. Thor?

*note to self: dress up as Thor and go to Renaissance Fair*

Here's how it should really take place. Thor backhands Wolverine with his hammer. Wolverine gets a concussion, staggers around for a bit and falls over muttering something about hammers and beer and Thor follows up with a huge ass lightning strike to finish the job. 1-2 pages Max. Best Wolverine fight in a while :D

Actually, I could see this going for a few more pages...along the lines of Thor patiently waiting for Logan to regain consciousness ,and zapping him again...

and waiting....and (ZOT!!) again...

and waiting (this time with a cold beverage as this waiting between lightning bolts is thirsty work indeed!) and ...yet, (ZOT!) again....

lol...yes indeed, best Wolvie fight in a while!

Seriously though, this does not sound promising, although I'm sure there is some kind of marketing scheme where this makes 'sense'. But overall, I would have to give this a big ol' :down

Maybe, just maybe they will use this as a Thor vehicle though. Seeing as he is the one getting a movie now. They are making a new Thor animated series too ain't they?

And what better way to get Thor some commercial limelight for his movie than throwing him in the ring with Mr Over exposed himself?

Maybe they are doing Thor vs Wolverine because they know people will pick it up because of Wolverine, but maybe put it down thinking "Hmmm actually, that Thor guy is pretty bad ass. Let's check his movie out"

If there's any justice:
Wolverine will leap @ Thor,
Thor will Backhand Logan thru a couple of buildings,
Logan will take a nap,... Thor will go get a brew.

I don't have a problem with the premise. I like vs. comics. The rivalries are part of what keep superhero comics going. It's just that "Wolverine vs. ________" has become synonymous with "Wolverine kicks _________'s ass, regardless of whether it makes sense or not."

Maybe I'm a crotchety old man far before it's time but give me good old print and screw this digital crap. I'll read this when it's on paper and IN MY HANDS!

It'll be collected and printed as a one-shot when it's done running in digital form. That's probably how I'll get it as well. A $4 one-shot beats $10 to sign up for the digital service each month until Wolverine vs. Thor is done.

This is relative to which book the fight occurs in. Most Wolverine vrs Punisher fights are way one sided depending on which book they occur in. It's kinda irritating. If it's the Punisher book Wolvy is a crazed, feral freak who gets run over by a steam roller, if it's Logan's book, Logan always does something intelligent that somehow fools the Punisher into making an ass of himself. Neither side appears to act totally in line with their usual characteristics. This is why I am not a huge fan of vrs fights. I'd rather see team ups against a common foe, that sort of thing.

Kind of like red Hulk Poochie.

Or Batman.

I was thinking about this story, and well....If Black Panter can out of nowhere have the ability to full nelson Silver Surfer, then I guess Wolverine can completely beat Thor...it makes about as much sense.

The Surfer just figured feeding BP's ego by not resisting would be the quickest way to get him to listen. :oldrazz:

Bleh :down :(

Surfer should have liquidated him for being insolent.

Not a fan of Surfer being made to look like a fool by someone who seems to think he's better at everything than everyone.

I bet he thinks he's a better telepath than Xavier and when they tell him to prove it, he just says that he needs prove nothing. :cmad:

And the worse part is many writers write him just like he's Batman.

Power Cosmic? No problem, he has an app for that.
Mephisto? No problem, he has an app for that.
Celestial? No problem, he has an app for that!

It's rediculous. :down

Paco Diaz? I thought his name was Medina? Or are they completely different people?

Just read it. Very short. Not the length of a comic, maybe a third of it. You only go 2 pages past what the preview showed. I'll give it a little time before I give any details, to give people a chance to read it. I would say I was underwhelmed (perhaps if it had been longer, there would be more to talk about).

There's an ad at the end for Spectacular Spider-Girl (Digital Excusive) #4 coming out on Sept 16. First off, I didn't know they were doing this here. So I'm curious what the Spider-Girl fans are saying. And second, when I checked the list of what "issues" have already come out, they seem to have 1-5 already released. So. I'm assuming this is an ad for #6 (just numbered incorrectly)

It's just one piece of a larger story, right? The Wolverine vs. Thor thing, I mean. Tieri mentioned they would collect it as a one-shot after it was done, so I assume it must be more than 5 or 6 pages.

Different people.

Yeah, there'll definately be more story. It's just weird. All of the Digital Exclusives that I've seen so far have been standard length comics.

Wonder if they will ever make this into a animated film like they did Wolverine V Hulk?!

I might pick it up then. But not if they want to charge five bucks for it. :(

They'll probably charge the now-standard $3.99 price for one-shots and minis.
