Sequels Songs for Superman MoS

even though i dont listen to this kind of music but U2's "Its A Beautiful Day" could work

I think that characters such as Superman and Batman should only feature scores to give them a timeless and epic feel.

I agree. I applauded Singer's decision to do that. Or rather not do that. In retrospect a song may have given the show some life. I still hope he doesn't go that route.

Now here's something that may raise the ire of people.....although I'm a big fan of Ottman's stuff for the X-Men movies I didn't particularly like his Superman stuff. I don't want the movies to go the Donner direction. I think that was a mistake...but I'd love to see John Williams do the next one. I don't think there's anyone in his league today. He adds such a depth to a movie.

"Earth Girls Are Easy" by Julie Brown.

Superhero films could benefit from good mainsteam songs attached to them.

Spider-Man I had "Hero" and that song was a huge hit, along with "Vindicated" for Spider-man 2

Daredevil had "Wake Me Up Inside" and that song became a bigger hit than the film.

But Superman didnt go the mainsteam route with its soundtrack, the only semi-known track was this:

I'm hoping for a more uplifting track for the sequel along the lines of this:

What genres of music do you want to see attached to Superman MoS? Examples are welcome.

None. It usually is annoying to me, even though I liked the two Evanesence songs in Daredevil and always imagine the movie when I hear them.

Yes. I believe it's distracting too. I was just kidding about the late great Mr. Nilsson.

ok transformers was epic as **** and it had music in it so why cant superman, as long as its played in the right moments it shouldnt be a problem.
Please, Transformers was forgettable entertainment. And a very ****** movie.

"American Pie" would have worked well for SR.

In SRII:MOS, I'm hoping for a drunk-Superman-reminiscent scene, with Supes not in his right mind (K exposure, magic, jealous rage triggered by mind-altering substance + Richard, something). He sees Lois and lurches toward her with angry eyes and "In-a-gadda-da-vita" playing :-> He grabs her and flies off with her: up, up, up, and then far away. The song is plenty long to cover it.

I doubt they'd consider either :-<

Only slightly more likely: "Blowin' in the Wind" as Supes surveys the Earth, listening to what's going on, and trying to decide who needs his help the most.

For staying power I do agree with the folks who said a wordless score (with no spoken travesties) would be much more moving and would be timeless. Since I don't know the names of many classical or jazz or other wordless pieces, I'm suggesting these fun, easily identifiable songs.

Caveat: "Moonlight Sonata". That would go well with Supes courting/looking for Lois under a dark, moonlit sky, over the water like in SR.

They should deplete a score and just play the Fray as the theme song.
