(rarely said honestly) :With all respect,...I'm not making any fun in this thread because s***, if you love it, you LOVE it, so it must be a similar sensation to the one I feel when I rock out to my own choices.

But I'm kind of dismayed when I don't recognize a single title.

Like, is it because I'm "old"? (I don't think so because I like a lot of current music.)
Is it because the posters are "young"? (I don't think so because I know an 8 year old that worships Led Zeppelin and the Beatles (NO, not ME. a CHRONOLOGICAL "8 year old".))

Have so many Hype-Posters heard Ozzy, The Fixx, Simple Minds, DEVO, The Talking Heads, X, Back In Black, etc.? and these sounds just...didn't HIT them?
:confused::(:eek::)

Relax. I said "WHEN" I don't recognize a single title.

When I was a kid, my parents played me music from the past and I loved it.
I'm worried that in the 80's and 90's, parents didn't bother to play their kids any old blues artists or punk rock or "New Wave".

I remember how excited my Mom+Dad were when they returned from a morning jog with a 45 that had "Fashion (A side)" and "Golden Years (B Side)" on it. :(

I was like, "WTF is T.H.A.T.?!?:eek:OMGlolWTF?!?"

Dudes, I'm talking about stuff like this:
say it ain't so - Weezer
exit music - Radiohead
send the pain below - Chevelle
the warmth - Incubus
by the way - Red Hot Chili Peppers

I recognize "Hash Pipe, and "Creep", and "Suck My Kiss"...but where's the...
F*** it,....as usual, Wilh = Villain.
Pffff :Emo:

It's funny, my Dad when he was younger just listened to Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, etc., "hard rock", what's now Classic Rock. Now from me listening to it, he listens to New Wave, Punk, and power-pop and stuff from the late 70s and 80s and laments not listening to them when they were new. Not that he doesn't like the other stuff, but he regrets having tunnel vision at the time.

At one point, I got in his car, and he pulls out the new CD he just bought, a Duran Duran album. He listens to the Satellite radio station that plays Depeche Mode and The Ramones and Echo and the Bunymen all the time. On another note, but both of my parents also listen to my Dropkick Murphys CDs more than I do.

A bit off topic, but kind of an extreme of what Wilhelm is talking about.
