Yeah, I think the complaint for the last movie was more so that it was kind of a generic but still fun “fish-out-of-water” story we’ve seen so many times in other movies just with Sonic and other elements inserted into it, not it being set on earth. Other Sonic properties have seen Sonic on earth before, and they still felt like Sonic.

This film looks to be going whole hog and fully embracing the Sonic lore, and I’m here for it. Looks like it’s going to be a blast.

Seeing the Death Egg robot in live-action is something else, man. Glad they're embracing the lore miles more in comparison to the first.

I wrote over in the BO Predictions that this could be a Dark Horse for Top 10 Box Office of 2022. And I think Sonic may have a legit shot.

I think it will.

If $70 million is your base line of the absolute minimum it has to match; I think with the way people are starting to go back to the movies (slowly but surely), and the fact that the movie is getting a lot of positive buzz. I don't see why it can do $90 million plus its opening weekend.

The only competition it has going for it are Morbius the week prior and Strange Beasts 3 (Two movies that will most likely flop or do mediocre) the week after. Plus it has a month buffer each way between Batman and Doc Strange 2. Plus factor in its "all ages subject matter" I think it could have some legs going into May.

We'll see. I think we'll be able to figure out more as the weeks go bye.
