Journalism at its best. That caption with Grace and Church says, "Topher Grace (right) -- when he is clearly standing farthest left. LOL

So this is not a true director's cut. It's a slightly altered shorter cut.

^ I'm not sure what the point even is to release a cut like this where the changes were so insignificant Sony didn't even feel like they needed to promote it or hype it up. There's a new Spider-Man movie coming out with lots of interest, why would they not put in a little effort?

I don't get why they wouldn't at least put the Sandman/doctor scene in at least. Or even Eddie blackmailing Flint in the sandcastle scene and chop out the Venom finding Sandman in a random alley and teaming up scene.

I do really want to see the daylight black suit swinging scene, but overall I'm really disappointed.

Although I think the Editor's Cut and in particular the sandcastle scene was an improvement on the theatrical, I suppose the best hope we have is, if this will be the definitive release of the Raimi trilogy, more deleted scenes are provided on the special features so that fans can edit a version even closer to the original.

I was really holding out for an extension of the sandcastle sequence w/ Brock, Mary Jane's apology speech, and maybe the final swing.

At this point, it's obvious SONY / Raimi don't want any new footage out to the public. I doubt we'll see em.

Yeah, this was the chance to release it, and they didn't. Instead they threw a few scraps, and cut out some good scenes from the existing cut.

Pointless and stupid

Hoe does Sandman go from struggling to reform himself to having powers to control huge amounts of sand and flying around. They should have included scenes where he learned to control his powers.

Could it be that Sony's refusal to make any press releases regarding the digibook or "Spider-Man 3: Editor's Cut" is because of a blanket decision not to provide any manner of promotion or advertising (at least outside of Japan) to any of their Spider-Man movies made prior to "Spider-Man: Homecoming" (either in order to distance themselves from them, or as part of an agreement with Disney/Marvel Studios)?

:yay:

Pfft. Should have known Sony would have found some way to screw this up. Too bad. Would have loved to see Raimi do another cut/version of SM3.

spider-man 3 is back on Amazon, i don't know if the editor's cut is too, probably not.

I was lucky to see it and to those who have, do you think the daylight symbiot swinging scene was way to short? Like they just made that part for the trailer and decided to cut it and never finished the rest of scene? I wonder if thats the case with the final swing too? We need a rougue Cut kind of treatment for this film

It seemed like a transitional shot. He does what he does at the Bugle and then swings off.

It wasn't a showcase scene of him swinging. Just to transition from one scene to another using that shot. Glad they included it.

I wish the new cut was more different but it is great to have a new version of SM3.

lol i just talked to someone from amazon in a live chat, he said he was a huge fan and he didn't even know about this cut and couldn't find anything of it. lol.
